We wanted to like the place, but trust me, you want to steer clear of here. Very very poorly maintained (big holes in the showers filled with bondo) & the managers are unprofessional. My in-laws have been coming to this campground for years and spend months at a time. I am told that it was beautiful and used to be very well managed (see other reviews on this). Their prices have skyrocketed as well.
A couple examples (I have many but don't need to drone on); they used to have a company come and clean the restrooms. Under the new ownership they "hire" fellow campers. Let's just say they don't do a good job (it's nasty). The pools were dirty as well. Not to mention the manager (James) and one of his staff lied to us about why they have a rule that the hot tub is 18+. (I asked because they went out of their way to kick my 7yo out when no one other than our family... 2 kids, mom/dad & grandpa/grandma; was in the pool area) They stated that it was Port Aransas law. I found out it was not law because I called law enforcement to inquire about renting a golf cart and crossing the highway from the resort (i had heard it's a $500 fine to cross the highway... law enforcement said it's illegal, so you cannot rent a golf cart and go to the beach from this resort) and asked them if it was illegal for a minor to be in a hot tub. The officer laughed.
Additionally, our interactions with the other manager, Lesleigh (James' wife) were not great. For example, my wife and kids were in the pool while James, Lesleigh, and their friends were gossiping about other campers and how it's great to kick people out of the campground. Not only is it unprofessional to speak poorly of your customers (in front of other customers), but the managers swimming with their customers? Seems a tick unprofessional by itself.
Let me add that we are not party people. We are a family of 4 expecting warmer weather and pleasant people on our vacation. We got half that!
This review is long enough. Sad to say, but none of our group can recommend port...

We’ve stayed at RV parks all over Texas, and Port A RV Park ranks among the worst experiences we’ve had. We would give it 0 stars if we could.
Lawn crew damage & safety issues: Their lawn maintenance crew has zero regard for guest property or safety — they ran into our camper hoses multiple times while trimming, and they trim right next to people, blasting guests with grass and debris. No care, no warning, and no apologies. Pool issues: The pools are bath-water hot, with mold visibly growing on the tiles. They claim they’re checked every two hours — absolutely not true during our stay. There’s no shade anywhere, all the umbrellas are broken, and the overall pool area feels neglected. Unprofessional management: Management sends almost daily emails about “new rules,” yet turns a blind eye when their own significant others are getting in guests’ faces, pointing, yelling, and even threatening people — telling them they’ll “kick their asses” and “will find you.” That kind of behavior is completely unacceptable anywhere, much less at a place you’re paying to stay. Hostile atmosphere: Management drives around giving guests dirty looks rather than solving problems. It’s not a welcoming environment — it feels tense and uninviting. Bathrooms & showers: Bathrooms are closed most of the time, toilet paper is gone first thing in the morning, and they lock the facilities to residents after 10pm. There’s only one set of showers in the back, and they were closed for several days during our stay with no alternative provided. Location limitations: Being on the north side of the highway means you can’t legally use golf carts, which is part of the fun of Port Aransas. It’s worth noting other parks don’t have this restriction. With a brand-new RV park opening soon — run by management we’ve stayed with before and know to be exceptional — there’s no reason to waste your money here. Port A RV Park has potential, but until they completely overhaul their management, policies, and maintenance, we...

So I guess according to a Full time resident here, there have been some issues with management changing recently.
My observations as a frequent camper. Twice a month or more for the last 20 years.
This is not a good RV park, that said it may still be your best option.
Issues we had.
Heated front pool heater was broken.could not use the pool because it was 57 degrees I think. They were waiting on parts but it was cold our whole stay. 3 nights.
I asked why the back pool was also not heated, they said it didn’t have heaters, it does, actually there are 3 there, 1 is plumbed but not turned on. I guess they didn’t know that.
My 9 year old son was riding my escooter with someone he met in the park, I guess they were being wild, the other boy was rude to an old man they had made mad.
This man and his friend showed up to my site, drunk, being aggressive. I apologized and grounded my 9 year old. Banned him from the scooter.
That was not enough for this old drunk, I told him 3 times he was being too aggressive and scaring my wife and son. He refused to leave, just kept stumbling and being intimidating. I was sitting, but after the 3rd request for him to leave, I told him to get the F out of my site. I stood up so he could see that I’m 6’4 -280 lbs. While he was maybe 5’-7” . Finally he left. As he left he said well we’ll just see about this.
A couple hours later the campground manager came to speak to us. I explained his demeanor and his intimidating antics. She was good about it. We were leaving this morning anyhow. (This was last night)
Anyhow, for the amount we paid, I think it was near 300$ for 3 nights, I expect a few things, amenities to work so they can be used. My wife and kids to feel safe. The place to be clean and to enjoy myself. 3-4 we’re not met.
We will never be back, and hope they get it together.
I thought I had pics of the non installed and non turned on heaters for the back pool but I guess I don’t. You can check yourself behind the rec center in the pool...
