My wife and I visited Eagle Mountain Casino yesterday after doing some business in Farmersville. Here's our impressions. First, kudos to the young man who was the parking lot transport driver. Most friendly, concerned and just a good man to make first impressions with. The overall design, cleanliness, and appearance was spot on. Well done Eagle. Parking was plentiful, and well within walking distance if we wanted to.
The Acorn restaurant was a mixed experience for us, here's why. We were seated promptly, but had difficulty getting an order placed, after a time, a second server came by and took our order when our original one disappeared for quite a while. After ordering, the food arrived in a reasonable time, but no condiments were offered (French fries beg for ketchup btw). The entrees we had were OK, not stellar but fit the bill. Drink refills were hit and miss. My wife got one, I didn't. Getting the check and then getting it picked up was problematic as we seemed to have fallen off the radar again. Overall, it seemed that our original server was hustling but needed and got support from her peers, still as diners who have traveled widely and eaten in many types of places, some organization was needed here.
Now for the casino, my wife went to the line leading to the window wherein the players cards were issued, and I chose to get some steps in walking around the casino floor. She stood, and stood, and stood...so long that I walked once around the place and was on my second revolution when she broke line, caught up to me a bit flustered saying she was tired of waiting (and she is a patient person) noting that the line was HUGE (it was) and that they only had two agents working and that they seemed to spend a LOT of time chatting with the customers (similar to what we had seen in the restaurant - which is good for making folks feel valued but perhaps needs to be balanced when there are others waiting). Note Eagle Mountain - when folks are standing in line, they are not gambling. When they don't sign up for a players card because the line is too long, they gamble less than they would otherwise.
We usually stop by the nearest casino when we travel, after which my wife says whether or not she would like to return. (I mostly just walk for steps and skip the gambling). For Eagle Mountain, she said "there's no need to...
Read moreIt's okay. Not what we expected.
No security 🧐😬 to get in, so kind of easy for anyone to put players in danger. We just walked in as if it was the park.
No coffee! And good luck trying to get a drink because they don't have a window to go get it yourself. Worst experience was when we asked for a water bottle and they opened it for you and they keep the cap! 🤨 What the __ is that about? Kind of weird, inconvenient, and not a fan of anybody opening my water bottles, feels a bit unsanitary. Ladies were rude as well! We were laughing cause it was like the Seinfeld episode of the soup nazy, "No soup for you!" That's the vibe we got from the bottled water ladies. "No cap for you!" 😂
Casino is in the middle of nowhere😬 and you don't get expected wow factor when you get in to a remodeled casino😌.
I didn't have any problem with the spacing but it wasn't packed. Yes, some slots are spaced just enough to fit the players, but it's whatever to me. Didn't mind the bumbing and turning around because I thought someone was calling me everytime they bumbed into our seat. 😁 Tacos were ☆☆, meat felt past due. PIzza was decent, felt light on my stomach, but don't recommend it with sausages or those balls of ground beef, they tasted nasty. The other ingredients felt fresh but the dough had no flavor and I think they gave me white sauce but no flavor either. I felt as if I was eating a salad. I didn't mind specifically after tasting the tacos and finding out the menudo is canned. We traveled 2 hours to get there and no, not planning to return anytime soon in the next 3 years. Unless a friend wants to take me there and I have absolutely nothing to do with my spare time. We rather go to Table Mountain or Tachi Palace. If Chuckchansi was not a smoking reunion we would go there too instead of Eagle mountain. I hope this helps anyone that is wondering if it is some kind of special place, I went with my favorite person so I didn't mind going at least once to save some of...
Read moreIt was alright. Long drive just to go and lose so much money in 30 mins. Bartenders were not that great. There was 2 younger guys that were very annoying and drunk trying to flirt with the female bartenders. The young men should of been cut off a while ago they were visibly drunk and being obnoxious and the bartenders kept serving them. I used to be a bartender so I know that its actually illegal to keep serving a drunk customer. I waited for my drink while the drunk younger men continued to flirt with this bartender and they asked for her number. Instead of helping me she stopped grabbed the dudes phone and proceeded to enter her number in his phone while I stood there and waited. Bad customer service in my opinion. She could of done that after she served waiting customers. So I had to stand and wait for her and listen to them flirt back and forth and they just looked and sounded ridiculous. Unprofessional to say the least. My friend that came with me couldn't even walk up to the bar because he didn't have his I.D. with him 4ven though he is clearly over 21. I get it that they can't serve him but to make him leave the vicinity of the bar is stupid. But yet they continue serving drunk idiots at the bar that are completely tossed and could possibly leave and kill someone. But don't let my friend stand near me while I'm waiting even though he wasn't drinking. The bartenders are not very polite and also I almost forgot that one of them I gave a $50 and only got change back like I gave her a $20 bill but I didn't notice until after we left. So they ripped me off. It okay but a waste of gas and money to go all the way there to be honest it wasn't worth the time and money we wasted to drive there and then gamble. I also think my rim on my BMW got cracked from driving up there because you have to go some dark back roads that have some major pot holes and you can't see them until after you hit them and mess up your car. So that cost me $700 when I got back home. I won't...
