The River Steakhouse — Restaurant in Porterville

We been eating here at least twice a month, I have noticed that service became super bad, there’s probably 2 server that is good but the rest are lousy , please Mr.Chairman check all your server in every restaurants you have , either they are tired or not happy . Friday was the worse ; gave us our drinks “no straw” I asked, took her 25 minutes to come back . Asked for steak sauce she said “we don’t have any of that sauce” I said “I get it all the time “. Bad enough she took almost 40 minutes to bring our food but never came back to us, our soda is empty, water empty ! Then time to pay, I laid my vouchers on the table , she came and picked up the voucher and said “ you’re using coupon”( very loud that I felt embarrassed) I said that’s not coupon , we earned that . My daughter treated me to Mother's day dinner. After getting seated our waiter Carlos came by introduced himself and asked if it was our first time. We said yes. He was very welcoming and patient with us. His service was OUTSTANDING! Best we've had! His attention to making sure our drinks stayed full and if he could get us anything else made our visit very pleasant. After reading some reviews we we're kind of nervous BUT his service changed all that. He brought out hot soft rolls and mentioned they were actually house made Hawaiian rolls!!! First of all, a Steakhouse should get their main entrees right. I ordered the ribeye steak at medium rare and received it overcooked. I didn't send it back because we waited a while for the main entrees. My wife ordered the chicken and received a chicken breast that was cut in half to make it look like she was receiving 2 chicken breasts. The sides were tasty but the roll was dry and crumbling.
