My fiancé and I recently had went into this library excited to explore and find some good reading, I will say they do have a lot of good books to choose from but the staff here is very rude and unprofessional. The first day we showed up it was my fiancé, myself and one other person in the library so we decided to sit and read for a few before leaving and while we were sitting reading minding our own business quietly one of the ladies from up front comes over and tells us we can’t sit at the table we were at because it was a children's only table and then proceeded to point at the computers directly behind us and said and only kids are allowed to use those. I don’t know what it was but just the way she went about it and her attitude towards us made me feel very unwelcome here. So regardless of there literally not being ANY children at the library at 7:30 pm on a Monday we picked up our things and moved all the way to the other side of the library to an identical table that was apparently approved for adults. I’d understand if there were kids present but there wasn’t any there at that time and we had done nothing wrong. Then today I’m writing this as I’m sitting in the parking lot still because I’m so baffled as to why the same lady made a very rude and unnecessary comment about my SERVICE ANIMAL (we had our paperwork to show if needed) by telling us to “next time just leave the dog outside” I then told her my dog was a service animal and that I could show her legal paperwork and her immediate response was “oh well he’s just so well behaved” in the most rude and sarcastic way possible. My dog was more than well behaved while inside, she hadn’t even know that we had our service dog inside with us until we were checking out books and she had to go walk back and help me locate a book I’d been looking for. This lady hasn’t liked us for whatever reason from the first time we’ve met, we’ve never done anything wrong, we always respect the library rules and pick up after ourselves still just to be treated like we’re not welcome here. Unfortunately this is the closest and most convenient location for a library near me so I’ll have to just let it go but staff could be a little less judge mental for whatever reason they’re judging to begin with and as for the rude lady who seems to have a issue with us for no apparent reason you need a attitude adjustment ma’am because treating individuals like you’ve treated us and by saying the things you said about my service dog is highly unprofessional and not okay… but I will remain optimistic for a better...
Read moreI witnessed one of the librarians this evening treat this one young couple in the most disrespectful and unnecessary manner. Out of my 2 year’s of coming to this library I am just appalled at staff and tonight had been a huge disappointment for me having seen how poorly this couple was treated. I usually mind my own business but tonight I ran out after this young duo and I apologized for the way they had been treated inside even though I don’t work here. I spoke with them for a few minutes and they are a couple of decent young 30 year olds who just moved to the area and didn’t deserve to be treated as they had been.
To the young couple and their very friendly service dog, I hope this unexpected experience doesn’t drive you two away and I hope that you decide to come back soon. I enjoyed talking with you both! Keep being you and don’t worry about others rude comments. Hurt people hurt other people, always remember that. God bless you and your...
Read moreMultnomah County presents to the public a vast array of education resources that is never fully appreciated. The diversity that it addresses takes only those who have not had such a wealth to fully appreciate. The staff at this particular branch is so very exceptional, even for MultCoLib. They present a 5 Star staff on top of a 5 Star library system. It is so great to have them back after the forced closure b/c of Covid-19. I know that I am biased but I do love great education material with experts there for every assistance a person could ask for. I am NOT related in any way to any person in the MultCoLib system, do not even know any person's name, they are so nice it just seems that you got the same great help with each one. Need college level education, this library has it on DVD/online, all...
