Last Saturday, Mohamed Bahamadi, founder of HAKI Community Organization, together with his wife and several volunteers, helped qualify immigrants and other marginalized members of our community - who otherwise would not be able to afford Internet in their homes - to receive tablets with 5-years-free Internet services in partnership with Connecting Portland, Portland Forward & Sano Health. What a busy place it was, as you gave your time and efforts to extend rights to individuals and families and to make their world more connected to services and knowledge.
Thank you, Mohamed, and everybody who was there to help, for tirelessly working in the name of social justice and equality. Mohamed, you always work with a welcoming spirit, act with competence and care, being the embodiment of the tenet of “love your neighbor” that goes beyond all religions. You all offered your help in the name of humanity, to human need, and put smiles on lots of faces in the room, people who patiently awaited to get word of their acceptance into the program called 10,000 Tablets.
