If you like being berated and treated badly, go to Necessary Technology with your computer for repair. Very rude owner. Stay away. I just dropped two computers off for repair, and didn't even get past the quote for work needed because the owner was so rude and disrespectful over the phone. Now I am picking both computers up and would never use this company. The owner talked over me, wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise, and was very unprofessional. And beware of the owner responding to this bad review by saying this was a scam reviewer as I see he has done in the past to bad reviews also stating that he was rude. After repeatedly trying to get this guy to listen to my concern on the phone and failing, I finally gave up and told him I was picking up both of my computers and that he was not to do any work on them. I also told him I was going to give his company a bad review, which I said given that I had no recourse when trying to speak to him by asking if there was anyone else I could speak to. He raised his voice and said, "Way to go with the threats!" Again, unbelievably unprofessional. Stay away! Update: And as if this all wasn't bad enough, I just called to confirm that I was picking my two computers up first thing tomorrow morning, and the owner literally called me a "liar," and told me that he was closing the store tomorrow (no reason given) so I had to pick my computers up today (which I have no way to do). He then hung up on me, and now I am frightened to just go pick my computers up. Now this has escalated to a complaint that I am filing with the Better Business Bureau. This owner seems unstable, so double...
Read moreOK, so it looks like my laptop is dying----only 3 years old---and even though I bought it at Best Buy, I'm not sure I want the GEEK SQUAD handling the issue. $8/hour employees and transient teenagers having access to everything on my hard drive was not particularly appealing to me.
So I do a search and literally stumble onto the Necessary Technology website. The first thing I read is something to the effect of: "Relax-your computer problems are solved". Well, anyone can write some soothing crap on their website, right? But I took the leap of faith and brought my computer in--the owner stayed open past hours to accommodate me since as I work in NH.
Bottom line was that my hard drive crashed---and unlike what the GEEK SQUAD would have done, namely replace it, MAYBE save my files but require I re-install all my applications, these guys went the EXTRA MILE--and completely CLONED the old drive to the new one. They also installed a better virus protection program and had the computer back to me within a few days---it looks and performs like it did when new--and everything was restored. The cost was very reasonable--and it was a flat fee quoted in advance. I know it took them more time to clone the drive, but they announced up front that they would attempt this--with no extra cost involved. In short, they seemed to actually give a damn about my problem--and my need to have it solved quickly.
This may be the first "review" I have ever written for a business---but these guys deserve to have their excellence proclaimed. If you are having issues, give them a try and you'll be the next one writing a similar review of...
Read moreAfter an entire cup of water drenched the business Macbooks keyboard I went into panic mode as it had nearly 10 years of business information stored in it with the last backup being done a little over a year ago. I contacted MANY different places all over the East Coast and after explaining the situation to them, none would even offer to take it in and look at it to see if they could recover the data. I was about to give up my search but decided to give one last phone call and "press 2 if you would like to speak to a human being" sealed the deal for me. Instantly I had someone on the phone, I explained the situation, and they told me to get it to them as soon as possible and they would examine it for free, give us a call, and we would take it from there. 3 days later I received a call with all the high tech words, but in simpler terms, if I wanted to see if the data could be recovered they would need to ship it out and it would be roughly 1200, then, to get it fixed, about 900. Deciding to break the bad news to my boss and tell them to just get it fixed and forget about the data, he was not happy. A week later I received another phone call and was informed it had been sent to apple, they had fixed 6 different parts, and once those parts were fixed the computer turned back on and the Logic Board didnt have to be replaced, which meant...DATA WAS RECOVERED. Not only was it recovered, but it was fixed and sent back to us for under $500.00
Working with this team was a breeze and I am extremely thankful I found them in my search and decided to dial one...
