My significant and I have been going to the Miss Portland Diner for years. Always good service and food until St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2022. We both ordered the Corned Beef Dinner. The waitress served our dinner to us and we found the red potatoes not to be cooked through and hard. We also noticed when we bit into the Irish Soda Bread that it was stale and dry tasting. The advertisement on the chalkboard listed that this dinner suppose to have pearl onions as well. It did not have this item on either of our plates. The waitress did not come back to see if everything was alright or not, the dinner was served cold .. not hot like it should be served. My significant other had to go over to this waitress who was just standing around near the cash register/ waitress area and told her our potatoes were not cooked through and were hard. We waited for the new red potatoes to be served by this waitress. She was just standing around and finally after 15 mins., this waitress brings us the red potatoes. She does not ask if my significant other wanted more coffee and did not check back with us. We had sat waiting for our check and the waitress to come back to our table. Again she was seen just standing around. Finally, after sitting at our table for 15-20 mins., this waitress comes over to our table, does not ask if we would like dessert or more coffee but rather stated, “ Are you all set,” and she took our plates off the table. Needless to say.. we both were very disappointed and this was not the way we had wanted to start our holiday. The waitress’s service was very poor and the food should not have been served cold. Under the circumstances of what took place, we would request that our money that we paid for the meals be reimbursed to us. This is not the way we remember the service and food to be at the Miss...

First question, why only one star! I want to give this place absolutely nothing after the outrageously rude, unwelcoming, insulting atmosphere. We have been here once before it was okay, cool train car seating area.. so we gave it another go... worst mistake we've made. I will never go back here. We were welcomed with a nasty attitude and listening to the servers talk negatively about management a woman named Susan? And other staff at the restaurant saying how they never do anything.. filling sauces wow the customer doesn't need to hear this. So although I wanted to leave we continued to order our food. When our food came out it was all cold, coffee tasted burnt, and I they just kept saying ugh we close at three why do all these people keep coming here. The hollindais sauce we ordered came out hard and tasted nasty 😷 we both feel sick to our stomach with this whole situation and then we're refused to be able to speak to management told she was management and given a half ass response my husband didn't even eat his food. The other server Sam was also rude and was laughing at us and our experience. Coming from a restaurant manager this Nadine woman needs serious counseling on good customer service, which we did not receive once. I'm not even sure if I'm going to be sick after eating that slop they served us.. and I'm shocked this place is still in business with the horrible staff they have on hand, she mentioned she works at a hospital as well to her coworker during her un needed rant we had to stomach to listen to, maybe she should think about staying there and not serving since apparently she can't...

Here's a little story about miss portland diner. Me and my friends, a party of six in total, put our name in to wait for a table. The woman said about 25 minutes. It was about that, so no complaints there...we sat at our table and waited about ten to fifteen minutes to give our drink orders...no biggie, whatever. Then we place our food order, and wait about an hour for it to come out...but again, that's fine, it was busy and I understand. So the booth diagonal from our table received their food, and you could tell that after the waitress left, they were dissatisfied. I also overheard that one of the men received the same order as i did. He sent it back, after it had been sitting at his table for about ten minutes. Being in the middle of the building i could see everything that was going on. She brought it back to her pick up counter and i notice that her and the cook probing it. The cook then took the eggs (which were about a third of my meal) and replaced them with new ones. The waitress then brought our food over. She gave me the same yellow plated dish, with the food that I ordered on it. The same food that had been sitting in front of some displeased customer ten minutes before. All of the top layers were cold. I still ate it, because you know, waiting for food for a hour and a half and being so hungry only left me with two options; eat it, or send it back and risk waiting longer, and also maybe having something spiteful done to my order. I'm not ever going back, and neither should you. 1 star...

One of my favorites for a hearty breakfast. The place is divided into two dining areas. One more of a cafe setting with tables and chairs and then another that is more of the classic rail car style diner with booths and counter stools. I always choose the latter. I used to go to this section as a kid when it was a stand alone diner at a different locale. The food! Classic diner breakfast and lunch. I ordered a Shamrock omelet which was stuffed with homemade corned beef hash. It came with classic grilled, skin on home fries that are perfectly seasoned and marble rye toast. More than I could eat... it generally is over there. Bonus: They actually serve good coffee too. Previously I dropped in for lunch. Again, great experience and food. A big ole fresh fried haddock sandwich and a cup of chowder. Fantastic! The counter service is always pleasant and attentive. Price point is on par with most other diners in the area. Easy 5 stars.

This was my first visit to Ms Portland Diner. We entered and were greeted within a short amount of time. We were given the option of sitting "upstairs" which we chose. Once getting there, it was a pleasant surprise to see an old, small dining cart with tables. We sat and talked until the waitress acknowledged us which wasn't too long. We ordered and once our food arrived, everything was absolutely delicious! My partner ordered blueberry pancakes, with home fries and scrambled eggs topped with green peppers and onions and a side of bacon. I ordered the two scrambled eggs breakfast platter with homefries, and English muffin and a side of bacon. The eggs were light and fluffy and the bacon and homefries were superb! I was told that their food is locally sourced so maybe that was the difference. Honestly, this was a great experience and I look forward to going back again soon. Maybe today🤭😁

Diners usually represent comfort food at American portion sizes. Don't come here if you expect that. You come for the experience of eating in a diner car. Nothing exceptional about the food. Portion sizes are the biggest disappointment especially the sides. I paid an additional $3.25 for like ten onion rings. I get more at a fast food joint. Also, my wife was asked if she'd like blueberry or chocolate chip pancakes and she said one of each. When we got the bill, I was charged another $3. The food tasted normal. Also you pay $3 for soda which has only one refill. Not sure if it's always been this way, the effect of shrinkflation or the owners trying to improve the bottom line by doing a money grab. For anyone wanting a real diner experience, I would recommend heading to Becky's. It has a much bigger menu plus great food and portions too.
