This place has the atmosphere you want and the food you don’t. Wilted lettuce on the chicken sandwiches, soggy disgusting french fries which will have you questioning your life the entire time you eat them. As you walk your disappointed self out of the place, take note of how many drones there are pushing soggy french fries around on their plates wondering what to do with them… please for the love of god- stop wasting money putting “support your right to arm bears” flags on toothpicks in your burger buns AND hire someone who’s not breathing from their mouth to cook some decent fries! As food becomes more and more expensive and cost of living skyrockets it seems that restaurants are only doubling down on mediocrity and this establishment is a great example of that disappointing shift. You’re basically paying 25$ or more per person here for what amounts to mcdonalds grade food in an interestinf atmosphere. I recommend elsewhere unless you REALLY like the vibe.

A great place for burgers. Great Lost Bear is a unique eatery with an interesting menu. Feel like wings? Theirs are great, but they are actual "wings" and not the tiny drumsticks we've come to know. Feel like a burger? They've got a bunch - most notably the "Almighty Cheezus" - which is essentially a burger with grilled cheese sandwiches replacing the buns. The interior is warm and cozy, and the staff are all generally pretty upbeat and friendly. It's also roomy inside and can accommodate large parties. However, it's located on busy Forest Ave and the parking situation is pretty terrible, almost nullifying their capacity for big parties in the first place, sometimes. Still, would definitely recommend overall. Make sure to get cheese on your fries, and stay for dessert! You can get drinks here, too.

The Great Lost Bear is a fun and eclectic restaurant outside downtown Portland. Everywhere is some funky or funny artwork for you to see. The seating area is spread out through multiple rooms - you'll be sure to have fun no matter where you sit. Service was awesome from start to finish. The menu contains sandwiches, barbecue dishes, and bar-style appetizers. Portions are massive and well-priced. We shared the homemade jalapeno poppers, which came out piping hot. Be sure to get a side of ranch! We also enjoyed the PB&J Bird and the Angry Bird. Largest chicken sandwiches we have ever seen - enough for leftovers. Beer & cocktail menus were equally impressive. The outside seating looks like a blast - definitely coming back for a drink on the patio!

We went on a Friday night with a large party with high expectations. I guess our expectations were too high. We waited 45 mins to be seated, there was parties half our size that showed up after us that were seated before us, we had asked if it would be easier to be split into smaller groups and were told no, even though the wait time for a party of four was 10 mins vs our 45 that kept running longer and longer. After finally being seated, we were able to place our drink order- the waiter never asked if we would be splitting the check in different ways. He then came back 15 mins later with our waters and soda and took a beer order and an order for two small children who were with us. The beer came back- and we were able to place an order of appetizers. We had asked for refills also. After 25 mins we received our appetizers, and water refill. No soda refill or the two children meals we placed early on. When asked about them, we received an attitude from the waiter. Every time we asked about something the answer was, those are coming soon. They never came soon, soon was 30 to 40 mins later. That included the drink refills. After receiving the appetizers and finally the kids one meal we ordered dinner. We had three appetizers for a large party and the dinner meals were never taken or placed until our appetizers were on the table. We waited 40mins for our dinner to come out, along with another refill wait, and maybe one check up from the waiter. After the 45 mins went by for our dinner, we asked where our food might be and we received once again an attitude from the waiter. We then had what I assume was a manger of some sort for the kitchen come over and tell us that they are getting ready to tray our food and it would be right out. We got checked on right after receiving our food, and then when we were ready for the bill. When we asked for the bill to be split the waiter just walked away. He then came back asking us which plates needed to go together. While running our cards and some of our party was sitting by the front door you can hear the kitchen manager and waiter talking about our table, calling us jerks saying don’t ever come back. Calling us the b word. All loud enough for people to hear, while we are still in the restaurant because we didn’t feel the service we received was worth the tip included for a large party. We hardly got checked on. Refills waited. And the attitude from the waiter and this manger person were unbelievable. I’m not sure if she’s an owner but the way that she was talking crap about paying customers, she should be ashamed. Overwhelmed/upset or whatever you want to call it. Our party was also overwhelmed and pissed off after being there for two hours being disrespected, but we paid our bills and we didn’t call you names to everyone in the establishment. They both then went behind the bar talking the same crap about our party. The lack of customer service really shined through. Just so the lady is aware, we...

HORRIBLE!! My boyfriend loves this place so brought me there last week. However we had a horrible experience which made him not want to return to a restaurant he has enjoyed for years. Took forever to be greeted at our table- probably 15 minutes. When we finally were greeted and ordered drinks, those took another 15 mins to come out- even just water. Then waited at least 40 minutes for food, at this point we were very hungry and confused where our appetizer was. They brought our entrees out instead- totally forgot our app. We asked her to put in our app and my boyfriend wanted another drink. So our server went to go place the order for our app and then disappeared for almost the entirety of our meals. She did not bring us silverware or napkins with our entrees. She also did not bring my boyfriend his second drink after asking. My boyfriend bit into his burger which was so undercooked he spit it out immediately and wouldn’t eat. It’s not how he ordered it. 20 minutes go by and I decide to go grab cocktail napkins from the bar myself and decide to split my chicken sandwich with him for dinner. Still waiting on drink, app, real napkins, and silverware. My boyfriend decided to go grab any employee to ask for the manager, because our server disappeared. The different server asked for a run down of what was wrong, so we gave her a run down and told her where we were sitting. She said she’d send the manager over, get my boyfriend his drink, and that she’d take the burger off our bill since she took it away.

Finally our app came out. Still no napkins or silverware for MESSY Buffalo wings and ranch. Second server brought our drink. And the server handed us appetizer plates to which we realized, they were DIRTY. Food still stuck on them from previous people, had to ask her to take them back. At this point we just wanted to leave. He didn’t want another burger and we didn’t even want the app. Just asked for the bill at the point since we had been there for so long without any good service or food. Server brought our check out and didn’t even remove the burger from the bill they said they’d remove. Oh and my boyfriend realized they put the wrong burger on the bill- which is why it was so gross to him when he bit into it. Wrong order and was never checked on to have it fixed. Had to ask server to do I remove it from bill since he didn’t even eat it, it was removed from our table after he spit out one bite. Will never go back or recommend this place. Horrible service. Never got to speak to a manager even though we asked, no napkins, no silverware, forgot our appetizer, raw/wrong burger, forgot our drink, took forever for water to start, and...

First time visit. Great environment! Great service! Great food! We got the Buffalo wings and the cheeseburger where each "bun" is a grilled cheese sandwich. Everything as a whole was definitely worth 5 stars. Based on my expectations vs reality and as a way to set an expectation for your visit. The wings came as whole wings so each one is essentially a drum, a flat, and that annoying wing tip that has no meat and serves no purpose except to make it them look bigger. I really don't like when restaurants do this. To me it looks like less effort is put in for preparation and also makes me feel like I'm paying for a part of the chicken I wouldn't want anyway. I'd much prefer some flats and some drums. Cut them up. People share and people have preferences. My personal preferences aside. The Buffalo wings came out perfectly cooked because the bones would just fall right out and that's a good indicator they know their wings. The Buffalo sauce was a bit more sweet than I'd typically expect but it was really tasty. My wife typically doesn't like sweet sauces but she also admitted it was just the right amount of sweetness to the sauce. We asked for extra blue cheese and we got blue cheese and ranch instead. No biggie. The blue cheese they gave us was a large enough portion so we didn't run out as we would in most places. My wife made an extra comment about the blue cheese being great as well. The grilled cheese bun burger was almost easier to eat separately because it made it quite a mouth full. I would have added sauces (ketchup mustard) but didn't this time. I requested medium but it was cooked with no pink (I'm not super picky about this on burgers but you might be). If you happen to be in the mood for a bunless burger and 2 grilled cheeses and French fry chips this is for sure your go to meal. Yes, their fries were basically a French fry made into the shape of a chip about the size of a typical chicken nugget. I liked them fine but didn't find them special by any means. I also happened to pick a Belgian style beer that was a little sour. Not in a bad way, that just doesn't happen to be typical for a Belgian beer profile. I asked to make sure I got the right one (I did) and she checked by bringing another sample she poured herself and then happily replaced it with something more typical as a courtesy presumably because the menu did not mention a sour finish for this Belgian beer and they just want happy...
