Do you NEED a space with glam? Old school glam meets new and modern space. This space has a gated drive that lands smack dab in front of a mansionesque entrance. The porch is full of French doors, ceiling fans and a gas log fireplace with a mantle. As you enter the grand ball room, you are in a space with ample window banks, dormers with natural sun-filled lighting, and more french doors. There is ample space for DJ setup, bar, and tables along with plenty of space for dancing. Tables are included in the rental. The floors are brand new hardwood floors placed in 2023. These floors definately elevate the space and add to the glam! The back set of doors open to a huge deck with 2 grand staircases and an pagoda type arch. The natural scenery is well kept and landscaped for country-club type appeal. The grand lawn out front is well maintained and manicured. The overall effect is that boujie has come to town! It is a gorgeous place fit for a fairytale wedding. Or any event actually. Did I mention that this venue is nestled in a quiet neighborhood with grand homes that quiety scream old school glam? This venue is quiet large and can handle crowds of up to 250 people. Valet parking is offered for all booked events, and it is free to guest. There is a coatcheck closet, a front parlor, a room for a full buffet, and a stainless steele kitchen ready for caterers with a private entrance. The restrooms are large and spacious with marble vanities. There is a grand staircase in the main ballroom with a balcony thst overlooks the ballroom. This space is a great space for photos. There is also a brideroom with a private restroom and makeup area. In the actual bride room there are couches and additional mirror set ups for makeup application. There is a full length mirror as well. There is a groom's changing area upstairs also. Security is included at all events so no need to worry about safety. The building gets full maintenance after each event to "repair" any blurbs that might be esthetically unappealing for the next guest of honor! Come check this space out! It...

The Woman's Club of Portsmouth was absolutely the perfect venue for our December wedding! The possibilities are endless in such a gorgeous space; I originally wanted to add tons of drapery and approximately 2 million more flowers before I was reminded by my now-husband that we did indeed have a budget... but ultimately, we didn't even NEED any of that extra stuff. The new floors and glittering chandeliers are so lovely that even very understated decor looks glamorous! We loved the ease and convenience of having our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in one space, and our guests were very pleased with that aspect as well. In addition to the space itself, working with Chrissy was such a joy!! She was so fun and easy to communicate with, and went FAR above and beyond for us MULTIPLE times in the year/month/week leading up to our wedding day. We are so appreciative and cannot recommend this venue and its staff highly enough! The one cautionary note I would leave for prospective clients is to remind your guests (multiple times) to try to arrive earlier than they think they need to if they are planning on utilizing the complimentary valet parking!! As the venue does not have guest parking directly on site, it can take some time to get everybody in the building, and I wish I had sent another 3-4 reminders to my guests. But that being said, it worked out just fine and I wouldn't even call that a downside or negative at all, considering we understood this from the start, and all of the other amazing attributes of this venue and kindness of the staff!! The Woman's Club of Portsmouth was everything that we could have dreamed of for my daughter's June 2023 wedding. I truly cannot say enough about this venue to relay how epic the wedding day was! Chrissy, the venue manager, was completely detailed in the planning process from emails to required paperwork and checklists, it was all laid out perfectly so that everyone was on the same page, always. The venue itself became a magical stage for the entire day. Getting ready there, having the ceremony, cocktail hour on the back porch, photos around the property, and then dinner and dancing there made the day a seamless event!
