I've owned my home in Elmhurst for over 26 yrs. and brought my grand children here for over 20 yrs. This past yr with the pandemic made it very difficult as to deciding camp vs childcare! I was AUNTIE AUNTIE CAMP to my 4 yr old Great nephew! We spent 5-6 days a week there weather permitting from 9:30 am to 3:30pm. He'd play in the morning on the jungle gym, slides, play on the grass for kick ball e.g. soccer and football; merry go round slides climbing ropes/rocks and just run until the free summer lunches were delivered at 12noon. He'd eat and have his favorite chocolate milk! Most days we'd bring a backup of Crystal Lite for waters for hydration! But after 12 noon lunch was finished 12 waterpark time would start! Mon- Saturday he'd continue running through it for hrs. He'd not only "THANK all his new friends for playing with him" all day and the the summer lunch program "MAN IN THE BLUE SHIRT" we loved his spirit; and I'd thank the recreation department supervisor for replacement of the umbrella, and the parks department for emptying the daily trash and cutting the grass, all the parents grandparents and even nannies I met because it truely takes a village to successfully nurture a children. Summer time in this park was definitely a possitive and memorable experience finished off with 400 BACK to SCHOOL BACKPACK AND SUPPLIES GIVE AWAY for every...

A 2 yr old toddler almost got his head bashed from the metal railings because the other kids wasn't listening to any of the adults so they ran spinning it too fast and the toddler fell down and his head almost got wacked within 1 inch of the next railing, he was luckily able to be pulled away with his head only 1 inch from the next metal bar railing because the bigger kids wasn't stopping when told to slow down so the little kids hand let go with the force and now people yelling to stop, the bigger boys still ignored adults and almost wacked the toddlers head with the next railing spinning around so fast. He could have cracked his skull and have the rescue try to safe the damage to his brain and not live a normal happy life ! 😥 it was traumatizing to see that poor baby go down and his head get pulled away from an adult within literally a 1 inch of...
Read moreWhat a transformation this playground/water park has gone through! So much to do for all ages. A few things that need attention, the bathroom had only one toilet and no lock and was disgusting. The other, was the utter disrespect with littering from both kids and adults. I actually watched a 2 year old eat a few bites of pizza and throw the rest at my feet. Trash was everywhere, even though there were plenty of trash cans. Do...
