Ever go to a place when you read the reviews and think to yourself man, this place is really rated well is it really going to live up to the expectations that you may have? Well let me tell you something, I am Lebanese and I always thought my Sitho and Gido (grandmother and grandfather) were the ultimate when it came to Lebanese cooking and just the overall wonderfulness of their food. Until I came here. I have no words for what I just had. I feel that I have been vaulted back in time when I was a kid at my grandparent's house but this food that I had was.... And I hate to say this... Just unspeakably good. So good, that if it was any better it would be illegal. I don't know what they put on their chicken shish kabob but let me tell you it is fantastic! The beef shawarma that my wife had was by far the best that she has ever had in her life! To put a bluntly, this place is the legit $hit. The owner showed me a fresh pizza coming right out of the oven and the smell was just intoxicating. Everything that we had tonight was super fresh and you could tell that this family just puts their love into every dish that they make. I live in East Providence and after a long day of work we picked an absolute gem to wrap up our good day today. May God continue to bless this establishment and you owe it to yourself to run, not walk, to Zesty and experience the way real Lebanese food is...
Read moreI went in with a friend for a quick bite to eat. There are a lot of pizza places in the neighborhood, so it was easy to get lost in the mix. Being an area in between two colleges, you have to stand out somehow. Zesty Bites does it by providing some solid Americana cuisine, and some good Lebanese food, as well.
I got the Chicken Kabob (Tawook) platter, It includes coleslaw, fries, some pickles, and a garlic spread. All of it was good! Beware the garlic spread, though. If you are going to a party and want to be alone, eat all of the spread. But, to be honest, the garlic spread is worth the purposeful introversion, and it worked really well with the rest of the platter.
I appreciate the paper based packaging and give them a thumbs up for the sustainable business practices. It was nice to be able to speak to the owner who was behind the counter.
Gluten-free options are available. While their menu does not specifically say gluten-free pizzas, the owner did say that they have cauliflower based pizza crusts. I am not confident that there are no cross-contamination issues, but for those who do not have a serious gluten allergy, it...
Read moreI’ve officially lived in providence for a year now, and I’ve tried at least one new restaurant every week. I have to say that after a year of tasting providence, this restaurant is hands down my absolute favorite.
I’ve tried tons of expensive Mediterranean restaurants, and just about every single gourmet pizza place in the city. But the Brooklyn style pizza (under gourmet pizza on the menu) and the Beef Shawarma (under zesty bites) were the most incredible things I’ve had in this city. Portions were more than fair for the price you pay (about $15 per person and we still had to take everything home). Tons of vegetarian options as well.
The staff was local and down to earth, and talked to us casually like we were old friends. It’s genuinely a wonderful spot to be. The food was perfect, the service was fast, and they will absolutely be getting all of my money from...
