nothing but cliques and little kids. they have a request board. itās just for show. either that or they really just donāt like my song requests. iāve never had a single request played. ever. their loss.
iāve been 30+ times over the last 18 months and every single time i walk in, the first thing i hear is āsix dollars, cash or card?ā then when i tell the same guy working the counter that i have a membership, he āguessesā the same completely absurd name every time and i have to correct him. that never gets oldā¦.. i was greeted by name every time within a month of attending Tippinā Point. clearly these people have some business tactics to work on.
zero A/C. opening their sliding garage-style door in the middle of an 80 degree summer night helps exactly not at all. and the lights. seriously? why is it bright as noon? until the last like 5 songs? this place is terrible, and it took me too long to realize it. oh well. maybe put my money to good use and get some A/C, yeah?
maybe youāll remember my name now that you received your first complaint, eh?
edit: i returned after a long break, hoping to repair my image of this place. danced like i always do. was pulled aside and warned AGAIN (this wasnāt the first time) that my dancing was reported as āinappropriateā by some anonymous girls. anyone that dances with me knows iām not inappropriate. i only do things i know my partner is comfortable with. especially baby dulties who are still afraid of having their back fat touched. my bad. guess maybe you shouldnāt go dancing if you canāt handleā¦dancing, huh? that shouldnāt be my problem. whatever. thanks for alienating me even more. tonight was my final appearance at this glorified...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat dancing, healthy variety of people, geared towards young adults (18-30, often single) in their marketing, and activities (rain machine, occasional drinks, etc). Fun music, but not so loud that you can't carry a conversation. Large garage door that opens to keep the temps down. Great place to meet people, I've walked away w/ladies numbers more than once.
Cons: -Group instruction tends to be more basic -It's very popular and gets really crowded at times -Incredibly hot during the summer
Still highly recommend, especially as the weather get's cooler. I go relatively often. I'm considering their new monthly membership.
Update: Since this review, they have addressed 2/3 cons I mentioned.
They completed a massive add-on, adding a whole additional dance floor and large mingling space with lots of seating, they also now host dances Thursdays as well as Fridays and Saturdays. Much more space and time to host the crowds.
They also have a larger collection of dance instructors as well as basic and advanced lessons in the first hour. I've thoroughly been enjoying the more advanced instruction that focuses a bit more on principle-based moves that can be built on.
It can still get really hot during the summer. That will be the case anywhere you go. Maybe they can get more fans. š¤·āāļø

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to love coming here. I came for years, but moved away and have come back to visit a couple times and my past couple experiences have changed my opinion on the place. Now they play the music too loud (I couldn't hear any of my dance partners and they couldn't hear me), and the music isn't really country. I used to come here because the other places had a darker, dirtier feeling about them, now this just has the same feeling (despite being well lit, I am referring more to the feeling of the room than the physical brightness). Which is unfortunate. They also increased prices, I think, to pay for updating the dance floor and whatnot. It's definitely not worth the...
