RMU completely changed my LIFE! I have made lifetime friends, and we have been there for each other not only through school-related things but through everything else that life consists of. Career-wise, I went from going to work every day and being satisfied just where I was to having a desire for growth and excellence in my profession. I enjoy learning more about my craft now and researching the very best evidence-based practices for my clients. During school, I have received several certifications that have increased my knowledge, and many of them I learned about from my classmates. Now, I am the only SLP in my entire state to provide one particular swallowing treatment and one of about seven people to provide two other treatments.

In addition, RMU was essential in me learning how to start a private practice and improved my confidence in myself that I can actually run one! Now, I am running a successful practice with five independent contractors. Also, I am in a position where I am almost ready to transition to doing my private practice full time, which will increase my salary even more while having more time with my family. RMU is a perfect place to jumpstart anyone looking to surpass all their career and life goals! I highly recommend RMU!!!

My experience at RMUoHP was amazing. It began with my inquiry and application to the program! From the very beginning, every interaction with all staff members and faculty has always been very professional and positive! All inquires and requests were handled expeditiously. From the educational aspect…all of the faculty was stellar! I learned so much from each and every professor. The professors were very accommodating and supportive during some times of personal turmoil. Dr. Jan Reese was amazing and made learning the technology seamless! Dr. McClary has been an awesome educator and mentor throughout this entire program. She was always only a text or call away! Drs. Shibinski & Martin really did a wonderful job teaching the fundamentals of becoming an educator and helping me establish a strong foundation…their step ladder approach helped me understand so clearly. Dr. Rust has also been instrumental in my success…it all started from a message received from Dr. Rust via LinkedIn! He has done a great job putting together this program and faculty. As I stated previously…it has been a great experience from beginning to end!!!

Prior to enrolling at RMU, I already held a MSN in Nursing Education but I knew I wanted to do more in the field. However, with work and life responsibilities I couldn't commit to being back in school for a long stretch of time. RMU's dual FNPC/PMHNPC program initially appeared frightful but the completion trajectory was a little under 2 years. I was supported from the beginning, prior to even being accepted to the program. I had the best entrance interview with Dr. Noles, who was the FNP Program Director in 2023 when I started. She provided the warmest, most encouraging words, and told me I CAN DO IT. So I did! The On-Site element of the FNP program connects to the students' clinical experiences and, in my opinion, elevates our level of confidence to practice. The PMHNP program is intense but structured, and supported by the most knowledgeable faculty a student at this level can ask for. I'm graduating from the most rigorous program I've ever done with a 4.0 GPA as a result of all the knowledge, experience and support I received as a student at RMU. I'm happy to have found the program, and forever grateful to all the faculty that played a role in my success.
