Jovany is super friendly server with great customer service! They also have a new manager.
I love the healthy salad bar at Sizzler in Provo. I want it to thrive and be busier.
Waitresses need to tell the person they are seating if they will be the server or if who else will be the server as they seat you. They should smile at all customers, even if some customers have complained about things previously, and be willing to serve them unless they have done something atrocious. If customers get only the self-serve salad bar, they shouldn’t be offended if customers pay the customary amount of 10% tip since it is a buffet, especially if they didn’t check on the customer for long periods. Servers should check on their guests every 15 minutes to see if they need things like napkins or BBQ sauce or anything else. Any servers who refuse to serve customers just because they think the customer complains too much or is picky should be fired, which means that most of your servers should be fired, since they refuse to serve customers they don’t like.
The manager needs to check on guests to see if they need anything instead of pacing in the kitchen and trying to avoid eye-contact. He needs to smile at guests.
If you have avocados part of the year or part of the day, but not the other part, put a sign up saying you are out of avocados currently. I feel anxious that perhaps earlier customers got avocados who came in earlier in the day and that I am not getting as good of a deal when I come in after 7 pm and they are out most of the time. It would be nice if you could order more so that you always consistently have avocados every open business hour. I feel like I have to ask every time I come because often they have them in the back but didn’t bring them out for some reason. I feel annoying asking every time.
When I worked in the food industry I was taught that the customer is always right, meaning that you should sympathize with customers who are upset, rather than arguing with them.
I don’t think my 2 year old should have to pay $7-8 for the salad bar. I think you need to charge $1 per year old the guest is. My 2-year old only eats about $2 of food then comes home and immediately tells us he is hungry. Thanks for offering Tuesday Kids Eat Free days!
I would hire employees who have conservative appearances instead of those with extreme hair styles, makeup, and tattoos. I think you could find some kind and polite servers from BYU students if you don’t have rude and scary-looking servers. At Olive Garden they got rid of rude servers & now they have a team culture of polite & professional servers and they are so busy all the time & have tons of employees. One of your servers akira told me that the servers there were toxic & it wasn’t a good place to work.
When people come in it would be nice to be seated without all the servers gathering in the back to whisper about and discuss who wants to serve that customer & making them wait several minutes until someone is willing to seat customers. Employees need to speak politely & not say short quick responses and run off. We have been particular about being seated where there is good lighting because I can’t see my food in dark areas. I don’t mean to offend servers by asking for these things. Also, there is a big draft in the cold months that comes in strongly at one table so we usually ask to sit somewhere else if they seat us there in the winter since we have skinny kids who get cold easily.
It would be nice if we could get cheese toast without having to...
Read moreI love Sizzler steak but today at the Provo location and Tuesday at the Sandy location, both waitresses never came to refill our water cups, except at Sandy the waitress did one time for my wife, but not for me. I usually tip 20% or even more sometimes, but when the waitress or waiter literally don’t take care of us, I don’t tip much or not at all, even to teach them a lesson to be more attentive to us as customers. We rarely get drinks and get water instead to save money but if the waiter or waitress does even an adequate job, then I tip 20%. So it really blows my mind how inattentive some waitresses have been the past 2 times I’ve gone to Sizzler. Also, this location didn’t even have avocados for on top of the California Malibu chicken that I ordered (which is standard for that) and yet I received an advertisement via text a few days ago for either steak and Malibu chicken for $9.99 or steak and California Malibu Chicken for $11.49 and yet they don’t even have any avocados in stock which are needed for the standard order of California Malibu Chicken. So this is a very poorly run establishment. They tried to get away with serving me the California Malibu Chicken without avocados but I complained about it and I explained I would have just gotten the Malibu Chicken otherwise. They refunded me the $1.50 plus tax, but did so with an attitude where they seemed annoyed about it and the waitress tried to argue it away. The waitress was extra snooty about it and literally ignored us after that other than grabbing our plates when we were done. She never refilled our water cups. If the steak didn’t taste so good, I would never give Sizzler another chance to make it right. I had even upsized my steak and my son’s steak to 12 ounce steaks at this location and got a salad bar at the Sandy location, so it’s not like my bill wasn’t high both times. So the waitresses in Sandy and Provo could have earned large tips if they had just been at...
Read moreSo we haven't been to sizzler's in about 10 years. Only because they closed the location in our city. So now it's a 2 1/2 hr drive to our closest sizzler location. So we were out that way and decided that yes this is what we were going to eat for lunch, noon. Went in all the server girls like 5 of them, really had no intrest in us. And the restaurant was dead only 1 other couple in the whole building. But the staff was way more interested in sharing their teenage gossip texts and which boy they are into instead of worrying about customers. Needless to say for the 3 of us it was $79 the all you can eat shrimp not good, cold & 98% breading. Our steaks were pretty good but you could tell it's low quality cuts of meat. But they were still good. Our daughters ribs she didn't even eat, they were oddly over cooked on oneside and cooked correctly on the other but were chewy. The salad bar. The avocados were brown/black. Alot if the salad topping were indespare& had rotten veggies in the containers with the fresher looking veggies & did not taste good or even look good. The sour cream tasted rotten. The wings we are pretty sure either cooked the night before or had been sitting under that heat lamp since 7am during prep time. The restaurant was clean. But definitely nothing like we remembered quality wise in a big way. It was not in anyway shape or form worth the $80. Just to come home and cook some food. Let's just say our dogs had a $80 treat. I know your locations can do better because we've always loved your food but in time very very subpar not...
