
We recently visited the Colorado State Hospital Museum, and while it was interesting in some ways, I found the experience a bit disappointing overall. The name of the museum is somewhat misleading, I expected to see parts of the actual hospital or areas where patients may have stayed. Instead, it felt more like a historic home that once belonged to a doctor. PThe woman who greeted us was kind, and the tour began quickly, but it also felt very rushed. There is so much information in this museum about the hospital history and various staff. You could spend hours just reading through the old news paper clippings and other great information. The lady who runs it is so sweet and very knowledgeable. They have so many unique exhibits and artifacts. There are actual pieces that came from the hospital and things that are similar to those used.
