I've had some amazing BBQ in my life and this wasn't BBQ. I should have known to turn around and walk away when I couldn't smell anything in the parking lot or when we walked inside but I'm always willing to give small businesses a chance.
there is absolutely nothing smoked. it's all baked with absolutely no flavor. every meat was dry as if it were days old, the BBQ sauce was congealed (I didn't even know that was possible), and the sides were store bought or canned. the black eyed peas are literally dumped out of a can, the collard greens are a travesty, and the potato salad scooped out of a plastic container. I laughed tasting each item because everything got progressively worse.
Mr. Willy is a very nice man, service was kind and punctual. I'm not sure how this ever got 4.5 stars but like a lot of local establishments, Southern Classic Cuisine must be resting on its laurels from many...

By far one of the best BBQ places I’ve been too. BBQ is very regional...very sweet and thick sauces in Kansas City and thin and vinegar based in North Carolina...everything else in between!
Willie is from Tuscaloosa Alabama and brings authentic southern style from his mama to Pueblo!
Every time I’m “home” I have to stop by and get the “JJ Down Home”. This is a pulled pork and hot link sandwich topped with coleslaw.

Because of my health and recent pandemic, I have not been to Willie's for almost 2 years. I've missed it terribly and have recently been getting takeout from Southern Classic Cuisine. Willie Gay is an exceptional man, a good friend and serves some of the finest BBQ I've ever tasted. He is a big supporter of Pueblo and we are lucky to have him as a business owner in this community. Prior to my recent visits for takeout, my family always loved going there once to twice a month (or more). Keep up the good work Willie. We've missed seeing you more often. You are definitely a 5 star individual and business.
