This school is an absolute sham run by con-artist that would be more than willing to screw students over just for money. During my second semester at CSU-P I had the worst teacher on the planet for my chemistry class. I called her Miss Bhowmick instead of Dr. because she made absolutely no effort to "teach", I later found out that Miss Bhowmick was there to do field research and the school was making her teach in order to complete her field research. If you googled chem 101 you could literally find every lesson plan she passed out. The way that she taught was to simply to read word for word off of the worksheets and if a student didn't understand a subject she would simply reply "just do your homework", which makes absolutely no sense. How are we supposed to do our homework when she didn't teach us a single thing? I then brought my concerns to Dr. Chad Kinney, head of the chemistry department. Dr. Kinney then attacked me rather than listening to my concerns and told me that "it is presumptuous and offensive of me to suggest that Dr. Bhowmick is not putting in effort to teach". After the disrespect that Dr. Kinney showed me I took my concerns to the Dean of the science department Dr. David Lehmpuhi. Dr. Lehmpuhi told me that it was just a miscommunication issue and that Dr. Kinney was not trying to be disrespectful towards me, however no apology was ever given to me even after I had apologized to Dr. Kinney for the miscommunication. In my opinion it seemed like the entire science department wanted to turn it into a students versus teachers affair, when all I wanted was to get a decent education which I paid over ten thousand dollars a semester for. I can easily get past all of this, I understand that schools occasionally get lazy, good for nothing teachers. The part of CSU-P that really upsets me is the administration and the academic advisers department. For the first two semesters I attended CSU-P I had asked my adviser and the administration department multiple times about gaining in-state tuition. The only thing I was ever told was that I needed to be a Colorado resident for at least one year. So this semester I was looking forward to being on in-state tuition. On August 2nd, 2018 CSU-P had finally posted the tuition bill and mine was at $12,356.82. Since it was very obvious that this was a out of state tuition rather than a in-state tuition I went to the admissions building to see what the issue was. I was then told that I had to fill out a in-state residency petition, and that it was due on August 1, 2018 and that I was too late. So now I am being forced to pay out of state tuition, because multiple people in the administration department as well as the counseling department had lied to me repeatedly for over a year. This is why I say that the people at CSU-P only live to screw over hard working students for money. I am a student with a 3.943 GPA and I am being forced to take a high interest loan just to keep my education continuing because I was lied to repeatedly for over a year. If you value your education and don't wanna be simply screwed over for money, than I would highly recommend that you attend any other university, because the way that this so called "University" is run is a pure disgrace and an embarrassment as an American...
Read moreDO NOT GO TO SCHOOL HERE. I have been going to school at CSU Pueblo since the Fall of 2013. I have lived in the Greenhorn dorms for three of those years, the best way to describe living in them is being in a very nice jail cell that you need cards to access each part of the building and even then you're not allowed to enter most areas. The roommates that you're put with are obviously not matched with your personality when they have you do the test to set you up with a roommate that is like you. I have lived in the apartments on campus called Walkingsticks and that isn't much better, but you have a good sized apartment that you share with three other people. It has a loft, living room, dining room and kitchen along with two bathrooms. They seem to have not been updated in 20+ years, the walls look terrible, the appliances look terrible and sometimes are broken. Most of the time the dishwashers are broken and leak water and no one will come and fix it or replace it. The food can sometimes have mold or look bad, especially the fresh fruit that I have personally become sick from. The basement of the OUC is the best place to eat, especially the pizza bagels at the coffee and bagel stand. The professors I can say will be happy to screw you over if they give you the chance, especially the older ones. Of course not all are like that, but from the many I have encountered want to set you back to have to retake their class again. Thanks to two of them, my graduation is delayed because they put me into the wrong class and the advisor was not there to help and it was only offered once a year. I highly suggest taking summer classes, they are quick, easy and people are more friendly for the most part, there is always exceptions.
Update: Now are claiming that I never was in housing and that I never submitted an application.
Go to this school if you are ready and willing to get screwed over...
Read moreThe school is by far the worst I've ever been to. Started off fall of 2021 with accomodation for disability. My FAFSA was submitted incorrectly edited twice by the admin, one who had not a clue what was going on, my advisor starting off was late for appts and didn't even tell me the half of how to do anything on campus much less how to get around on the website, he assumed many things that I knew as well. Come time to start the semester and only 1 professor of 4 submits books to the library and the library doesn't have all of them. So I order them and by the time week 4 starts everything is just getting settled.
Fast forward to spring, once again no submissions of text books by any professors. Due to my disability accomodations, I'm supposed to submit receipts for my books 4-6weeks out, hard to do this when professors aren't submitting. Had a death in the family and then covid twice and was told the same thing every other student was told and the office of the president told me to go back to the dsrc and to get new accomodations. These accomodations were originally set by the dsrc and were determined to be reasonable. This administration is clearly not equipped to handle most things and offers no recourse for students. Along with this CSU-Pueblo supports the discrimination of disabled students and even allows it within the Hassan School of Business. If you can, attend another school near Pueblo...
