If I could I would probably give it a 3.5
Wollaston is a nice enough beach with its own pros and cons. Pros are that it is sandy and a long strip that you can walk down and back for a nice little workout. Because of its location by a road, their are several places to eat or drink right across the road, which is really the reason that I end up going to Wollaston. So it is more for foodies and walkers that beach goers.
Cons are that it is noisy being right next to a major road with traffic constantly going by. This road also separates the beach from the restaurants so you need to play leap frog or find a crosswalk to stop traffic. The beach itself is narrow, especially during high tide and can be rocky at low tide. Their are also no public facilities that I found for changing, showers or restrooms.
Along the board walk their are a few shelters with benches. Most people eat ice cream/food or hang out simply by sitting on the wall along the board walk.
I've never experienced a problem finding parking as there is a small lot at the far end and single parking along the entire boardwalk strip.
All in all I'd suggest this maybe for a walk and food and less for just relaxing at the beach. Maybe check out the Clam box (good clams and fried food) or the Baja Box (BE WARNED they haven't had soft serve this entire...
Read moreI love Wollaston Beach - it’s so easy to reach on the MBTA Red Line. All kinds of people go there and everybody’s very happy when it gets warm here. Recently I saw a bunch of horseshoe crabs there during quarantine summer. The water was clear for a change without so much boat traffic. It should always be like that! Let’s use solar electric boats. Anyways, Wollaston is a great stretch of beach. No it’s not Florida haha but considering all the wonderful resources and sites of Greater Boston we are very fortunate to have great swimming beaches too. This one has plenty of parking for your electric or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles! As well as two ice cream shops and this might be the most important on my list: a large...
Read moreThe location and surroundings of the beach are really nice. But the beach its self isn’t the type of beach you would want to go swimming in, or put half of your body in. The most the I did was put my feet in but other than that no. If your looking for a (sandy) (sandy) beach I wouldn’t recommend this beach; It’s more of a rocky beach with some sandy locations on the beach !! Overall it has about 4 eating places literally right across which by the way are...
