Food one of the best seafood spots in Boston/Quincy area. But, yes a but 2 years ago the container had abundant of seafood alway to the top you could eat 😋 yummy food. Now it's less food like they count 6 shrimp 🍤 and 6 scallops I'm basing this on what I had yesterday on my combo plate 🍽. It's sad 😥 because you raised prices a few dollars more which I know based on 2 years of people staying in they got to play catch-up and they lost money 💰 like any other business. But the amount of food should have remained the same. I felt ill yesterday and primarily get seafood platter which I get fish, oyster, scallops and shrimp and rice and salad. I could only eat rice and the scallops and shrimp was to much for me. I normally try to go 2x a month each month June,July,August and September but I have no car and seafood is a luxury for me. I was so delighted they were open in October considering this is New England and folks who live here know must seafood eateries are closed during cold season. Summoning it all up in 1 eggshell they yes this restaurant may have me to look elsewhere or cook my own seafood 🤔 and I am disgruntled by what I would consider a kids meal seafood dish if Clam Box had such a thing. The increase on price I understand because we lost 😔 money 💰 during two year illness but reducing of food definitely a no no. Kept food same amount and increase dollar 💵 amount. Sorry been a long time customer going to look elsewhere may refer to Tony's next door because last year there helping was huge compared to yours last year it was a bit pricey but me and my acquaintance got fried lobster 🦞 tail so expected that. I know your charge 😏 a hefty fee for lobster 🦞 too. Food taste excellent that be a 5, food portion a 2. Definitely...

The great debate continues about which of the two seafood places is better -- but The Clam Box is definitely my favorite. Along with the golden-fried deliciousness, I always enjoy a bit of nostalgia, too - since it's been around since 1968.

And for all who think it's expensive (yes, fresh seafood is not cheap), it is much less expensive than the other option.

I always get the two-way platter with fried scallops, whole belly clams, onion rings and cole slaw and paid $25. Out of curiosity, I took a walk down to the other place and the exact same thing was $36 dollars. Eek.

I've come here twice in the last 3 weeks, panicked that it's closing for the season. 🤣

Both times, the platter was prepared quickly (less than 5 minutes); was perfectly cooked: and was too much food to eat all in one sitting. I ended up taking the scallops and half the onion rings home so I could reheat them in the toaster oven later, when I get hungry again.

The Original Clam Box has crispy, fresh, and golden fried seafood; reasonable prices; beautiful views; friendly service; outdoor seating; bottomless self-service tartar sauce/ketchup; and nostalgia.

Especially if you like the two-way platter (choice of scallops, whole clams, cod, and shrimp), The Clam Box can...

I am really disappointed with my experience at Clam Box today. Even though it was raining, I decided to support my favorite place and ordered from my car. But, to my dismay, I found the lady who welcomed me seemed to be unhappy that I had come, she handed me my order without any warmth or courtesy. When I asked if she had included the sauces, she replied with a curt "no" and suggested I could do it myself since it was self-service. I was surprised that she didn't bother to inform me earlier, and I only found out after asking her.

When I got home, I discovered that my order was even worse than the service. The scallops were dry as wood and tasteless, the fish was equally bad, and the fries seemed to be from the day before. The shrimps smelled bad and were so dry not possible to eat. Even the coleslaw had a strange odor tasteless actually bad taste. I am not sure what happen , with those nice people use to work there and the good food I missed so much, that was trash for $50 such terrible food. My daughter and I were so hungry, but we had to throw away the calamari and seafood plate. I want my money back as soon as possible. It's sad to see that Clam Box has...
