Still a decent beach. They need to remove the drifted sand from the boardwalk ramp, though (let me keep it, and I'll remove it for them, at no charge). Almost impossible to maneuver a wagons, coolers, etc. across because of it. And some elderly folks were struggling to negotiate through it, as well. Good call on moving the showers closer to the actual beach (makes sense) but deleting the 4+ showers from outside & within the restrooms, only to replace them with a mere TWO shower heads was a bad call. Cleanliness is A+ for facilities/boardwalk, but B- for actual beach (could stand some improvement). Visitors pay for day parking, and there's a campground integrated to the north side of this park, so the funds should be abundantly available for maintaining good upkeep in these areas.

****UPDATE****and NEW PHOTOS 📷 6/24 Since moving here from Dallas a few years ago, I now frequent the beach 4xs a week. My husband is going to put a limit on the sand & shells I always return with. 🤣 This is a beautiful free beach. It's well maintained by the freeport beach crews. 👏👏 They have a huge job- especially during the holidays. The 1000s of people that visit and trash the beach 😡🤬😡 It's heartbreaking to see the out of towners (SHOEBIES) destroy this beautiful beach The water has been clean and blue, I feel blessed to live just a few minutes away from some of the best ⛱️ in Texas. #CLEANUPYOURMESS #KEEPTHEBEACHCLEAN #staysafe Beautiful, dog friendly, people friendly, family-friendly beach. IMO, on my top 3 best beaches in Brazoria County.

I love the beach, the sun rise over the waves, the saltwater smell, the relaxing sound , but I don't like being packed in like sardines. That's what makes this beach different. There is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy everything around you without that crowded in feeling like you are on top of each other. You can drive on the beach and bring a small grill for a nice BBQ or cook the fish you just caught.

The beach is beautiful, grounds are nice, easy to access, bathrooms are clean…we come at least 1x per month during the summertime. The reason for my low rating is over the behavior of the parking attendant. She refused to allow us in unless we paid a mandatory $5 CASH entry fee. CASH. Who carries cash anymore? I asked if she would take Cash App, Venmo, or Apple Pay & she was clueless to what I was asking. Doesn’t have a Square either. She told us the office would take the parking fee by credit card (we’ve paid at the office before), but would unfortunately add a $3 convenience fee ($8 total), to which we said was fine…she stared & replied with, “well you can’t go to the office without paying me first.” Told us to drive over the bridge & BACK INTO TOWN to use an ATM over FIVE DOLLARS. Quintana Beach, I’m incredibly disappointed over the behavior of your parking attendant. Please join the rest of us in 2022, where technological advances have allowed us to pay via apps & hardly anybody carries...
