This was a short stop along the way on my quest to find a nice swimming area near Raleigh.
It’s Hazardous situation in and out of the water. I agree with what was mentioned as dirty or hazardous by other reviewers.
Muddy parking lot. Be careful where you step even in shoes or sandals… i got some mud on my foot (no cuts i could see) and cleaned it off. It started burning while on my way home, and I had to soak my foot later on in epsom salt and iodine in a footbath!
Sewage treatment plant facility right next to the beach and parking lot. Absolutely disgusting. Could this be contaminating the soil and beach sand i wonder, especially during heavy rains? Definately smells pretty bad.
Cigarette butts in the sand by the river beach. Some shady areas and pretty busy. Definitely warm murky shallow water but wasnt very appealing to me. Overflowing trash bins in the center of the parking lot.

It would be great if Wake County could build a water filtration plant where these creeks empty...
Read moreThis place is closed and fenced, and there's nothing but apartments all around it. There is no parking, so you risk having your vehicle towed if you park in the apartment's parking lot. So if there was a place to park I would highly highly recommend this place because it's an incredibly cool place to swim and to hang out. But since there's no parking anywhere nearby, there's no reason to go here. It should be marked on Google as closed to the public because...
