John REALLY knows his stuff. I had completely ran out of options on how to repair or replace the stock radio on my '93 Mustang. I wanted to keep my car completely original, but it was/is impossible to find a replacement New Old Stock (NOS) radio for less than $400. Found him by chance through a Google search after contacting JBL, Ford, Crutchfield and a number of parts warehouses that purchase old part stock from Ford and other manufacturers. John knew immediately that the problem, popping while adjusting the volume and a sound imbalance from the driver's versus passenger's side speakers, was from old capacitors that had broken down. I sent my Lexus LS460 Levinson amplifier in to be repaired here. It was "repaired" and then sent back to me. After two days smoke started coming from my trunk and the amplifier almost caught my car on fire. I let "John" know that the amp had burned up, and he said sent it back and he would repair it again. I sent it back again, at more cost to me, and was told some parts inside did burn up, but he would fix it and send it back. I got it back the following week, it still does not work correctly, and now he claims he sent me a different amp after he told me he fixed it. I called beforehand, drove an hour and a half to this shop, and the owner shut the door in my face because the outer case was missing from my head unit. His reasoning: “I need to test it and I cannot test it like that” Really? Does it make a difference if there’s a piece of sheet metal covering the top or not? (As an aside, the radio works perfectly). Unbelievable. So rude. A true miracle that this place is still in business...
