While not large in size, Angelica Creek Park is a nice, peaceful park. There are nice walking paths and a 9 hole disc golf course. I frequent the park solely for disc golf, but it is nice and quiet I'm the morning with the occasional runner or dog walker.
From a disc golf angle, the course is mostly wide open, but does have one tunnel shot hole and another hole that has a green that is in the woods, offset from the fairway. While mostly wide open, the course designers managed to utilize some of the existing trees and and a lot of the elevation changes to make each hole feel distinctly different. My main gripe with the course are the tee boxes, they're small and filled with fine gravel. The stake with the hole number is at the end of the teebox, very close to your arm whole throwing. I typically tee off from right next to the actually tee box in the grass (based on the wear of the grass, it seems like many other...
Read moreAngelica Creek Park is great if you stay in the area near the building. Last year they were rebuilding it so I'm sure it's updated and has a lot more to offer. However if you walk down on the trail along the river just be cautious. It used to be my go to for a quick run with my dog, but the last three times I was there I ran into people coming out of the bushes or going into the bushes where they had no business being. And they were not teenagers goofing around, they were a middle aged couple who seemed like they could have been on something and made me incredibly uncomfortable so I don't go there anymore. It's unfortunate because I liked the area and the trail but as a woman by myself I don't risk going someplace so secluded anymore. The area around the parking lot is nice though, but it's not a super long trail if you're looking for a...
Read moreI really love this park. The trails are so beautiful and easy to walk through even with small children. It's also very educational. Lots of schools have field trips here. Today I discovered a small book stand, almost like a book swap. I'm sure you can bring books and just leave them there for others to enjoy or just take one and go sit in a field and enjoy a nice read. What a wonderful idea! On weekends there is lots going on, they had a food truck and other stands selling organic homeade lotions and other products. They even had a beer stand! And the prices were nice as well, $4 & $5 beers. The food truck even had hummus! There were lots and lots of dogs and people in bikes. I did not see a playground. There are nice benches all around and really spaced out so you can...
