It's a beautiful place to go to ride a bike or take a walk, but recently there has been a lady near the gazebo that appears to be out of her mind, and never stops talking (loudly too) about things that make no sense. She interferes with conversations, eavesdrops, and if you try to ask her a regular question, she doesn't seem to know how to comprehend a normal answer. I feel bad for her in a way, but I also know that because of her constant presence there, she pretty much guarantees that no one else will be able to/want to go to that area, which sucks because it's where all of the benches/seats are. The gazebo is a pretty spot as well, but I've notices homeless camping out under that every time I've gone by there lately as well. Nothing against them, but it's really a drag that people can't go take their kids there or use the place for family photos, etc because the homeless people that are openly doing drugs are planted there. Read moreIt's big.... it's got that going for it, lol. There's several different areas that have different activities to enjoy. Fronts the Sacramento River and with many large trees for shade it can help make Redding unbearable summer temperatures slightly more bearable. It's also located not far from downtown so easily accessible but, and I have nothing against the homeless and less fortunate because I've been homeless and am still less fortunate bit it can ruin a family gathering with a group of homeless doing drugs within view of your kids, so just be careful...
Read moreHeart of the park I went to was calm quiet and was not a lot of homeless people and I had a great experience I've been in the area all my life and went to the park I was expecting more less of a not so desirable experience turns out that local law enforcement or whoever is placing the park and keeping things under control is doing a good job because there was no riffraff or undesirables around and me and my girlfriend could walk undisturbed and we had a great time we spent about three and a half hours there no incident at all it was lovely definitely...
