Subway — Restaurant in Redding

Haven't been to a Subway in years..I used to like it, then it went down hill. With all the re-vamp hype I decided to give it a try. 1 guy to take orders and make sandwiches at NOON!! He was nice enough but it took over 10 mins for him to make 3 sandwiches which I had to remind him on 2 that the menu says 2x Provolone. Had to beg for lettuce as I do prefer more than 4 shreds! Nothing special with the re-vamp, same stuff different day! Worst part of this whole experience was when I got home with the sandwiches, I looked at my receipt and a 20% tip was added without my consent!!!! Seriously, forced tipping now for what? I definitely will not be back to that specific location. Here's hope that perhaps it is just a bad location. ...

I used to be a weekly regular at this store prior to its latest change of ownership. However, after a few very underwhelming visits following the change, I stopped going to this store. A few days ago I decided to give it another try, and I can honestly say it was easily the best subway interaction and meal that I’ve had. The store was very clean, the young woman (red hair, I believe her name is Grace) who greeted me and made my sandwich was engaging, polite, professional, and made one heck of a sandwich. It's subway. Never as good as you hope it will be. I'm a fan of consistency however, and and they are consistently slightly below what you expect, so I keep going back. Will definitely eat here again. And at many other subways. And I will consistently be slightly disappointed yet satisfied at the same time. The sandwich artist that made my meatball sandwich at this particular subway took what seemed like an eternity to make but he put his all into it. I've never seen such care taken for a sandwich before in my life. It was almost inspiring. Changed this from a 3 star review to a 4. Good job young...
