I have been going to Revere Beach for years and I like it very much. I live in the Back Bay and I got rid of my car because of all the parking tickets so for me Revere Beach is very easy to get to because it's directly across from the subway station. Over the years they have cleaned up the beach so now it is clean and safe. Each time I've been there it's been very crowded and busy. I especially like the Banana Boat ice cream shop across from the beach. They also have a pizza parlor, a Chinese fast food place, another ice cream parlor, a bunch of bars/pubs and further down the beach is the famous Kelly's Roast Beef and other seafood restaurants. They have bathrooms, a gazebo and places to sit with benches under the shade. That's what I love most about Revere Beach is that they provide shelter from the sun. Also, I see a lot of old timers there, local elders in their 80's and older who gather under the shade to chat, visit and share a laugh. It's a real family beach with tons of kids, teenagers and families. I don't know why Revere Beach gets such a bad rap but in my estimation it's a pretty good neighborhood beach that's only 20 minutes from downtown Boston by subway and it's free. They also have a sand castle competition, volleyball and free movies. You can lay on the sand and watch the planes coming to land at Logan Airport which is very remarkable. The sunsets are beautiful and you...
