I’d like to share my experience regarding the cancellation process at Fit1. I initially joined under a family add-on for $25 per month, with the understanding that I could cancel at any time. However, when I attempted to cancel several months later, I was informed that I had signed a contract and would be required to pay a $255 cancellation fee, or alternatively, a $50 fee to transfer my membership to someone else.

This was surprising, as my understanding was that the agreement was simply for the $25 monthly fee, and I had only signed a digital form acknowledging that fee—not a binding contract. To my dismay, I later learned that there was a contract involved, which was not disclosed to me prior to signing.

I engaged with the Rexburg manager via email, but unfortunately, the communication was unproductive. I found the Rexburg manager’s responses to be unhelpful, and it was challenging to resolve the situation. Additionally, it was concerning to learn that the Rexburg assistant manager was the Rexburg manager’s spouse, which could raise potential conflicts of interest.

Ultimately, my sister was able to get in touch with a manager at the Rigby location, who was able to address the situation professionally and effectively, leading to my membership cancellation.

While I appreciate the Rigby managers assistance, I believe it is important for businesses to prioritize clear communication, transparency, and a more empathetic approach to customer concerns. Unfortunately, my experience with the Rexburg manager was less than satisfactory, marked by passive-aggressive behavior rather than a solution-oriented attitude.
