Ragtime Antiques Mall — Attraction in Richland

Very disappointed in this business with the actions of one of their employees. We tend to go in a few times a week, my daughter who has autism loves this store . Today while we were waiting in line to purchase an item my daughter picked out like she always does , but today we were asked to leave. Reason for being asked to leave

My daughter who has autism was becoming a little upset while sitting in her dads shoulders might I add, because there was a few people a head of us and it was taking longer than usual, my daughter is also nonverbal as well. So yes my daughter might have been crying and trying to voice something but from the looks of it , it seemed to annoy the employee . She then turned to us and told us we needed to leave. I tried to explain to the employee that my daughter is nonverbal and has autism This is her way of communication the employee cut me off and said “I don’t care you guys need to leave “

I have never been so humiliated and sadden by the discrimination against my child .

This is the first time a business has kicked us out simply because of my child trying to communicate because she is upset.

Love the store, but horrible customer service and store atmosphere. I’m disabled and use a cane, and it’s hard for me to hold things due to one hand being occupied at all times. The store had no baskets and had only one shopping cart, which i cannot use due to my cane. i have to go back and forth, dropping off my items at the front desk so i don’t carry all of them at once. This is hard for me, because it’s a big store and I struggle to walk. I am displeased with the customer service. I came here with only one card, a credit card my dad lent me. Once I had everything i wanted picked out, and went to checkout, they told me they don’t accept discover, even though there were no signs anywhere saying that. I had no other way to pay, but they told me I could go to an atm to take out money. ATM’s don’t take money out of credit cards! But at the time I wasn’t even aware that my dad lent me a credit card, so i struggled to walk over the to gas station, just for me realize it was a credit card… waste of my time, and physically taxing on my disability. I have never been so mad at someone before but the lady at the counter pissed me off. My daughter and her friend went into this antique store in the uptown today. The woman working said the kids had to leave their bags at the front and they said ok and walked off to look around. I went a different way in the store and overheard her tell her co worker that those 2 kids look like the type to steal and she legit said one looks mixed and the other Hispanic and I don't need theft in my store. Racial profiling the kids, then proceeded to constantly check up on them asking if they needed anything and then she said something to my daughter's friend that this is not a playground and he said I'm looking for my friend ( my kid) and then she was like do you have a parent in here and I quickly found the kids and we left. I was getting so irritated we couldn't even enjoy ourselves because of this woman constantly watching and following the kids. I swear people these days need to knock it off because they weren't do anything wrong. This place deserves NO stars...
