It's a beautiful park with several beautiful, scenic areas that are great for walking or maybe a picnic. The VITA trail is one mile and has different fitness stations along the way. It is a scenic trail with even terrain. I enjoy taking my son out on the trail in his stroller. Also what's nice about the park is it is surrounded by some beautiful lakes. Fountain Lake is very pretty. It is a half mile around and has benches all along the perimeter in case you just want to sit and take in the scenery. Also, Fountain Lake is the only spot in the area that I have found that has a building with restrooms. Swan Lake is stunning, but the sidewalk does tend to be dirty on account of the birds. Definitely worth visiting though. Swan Lake is serene. Byrd Park also has other neat areas to visit, such as the Virginia War Memorial and the Dogwood Dell Amphitheater (which I believe hosts concerts during the summer). Overall, I am a huge fan of Byrd Park. It is family friendly, great for walks, playing, or just sitting and taking in the...

This is an expansive green space with playgrounds, lakes, the VITA exercise trail, tennis courts and more. In reality it's a bunch of micro parks adjoining each other, such as pump house park that isn't as obvious to find. There's frequently events, live music, and more. Neighborhood volunteers do a ton of the actual flower planting and gardening work. I just wish the city would more consistently step up and take care of such an obvious and important resource. The carillon had been adopted for completion and restoration by the good folks at the Virginal War Memorial organization. Maymont is just next door. Carytown is around the corner. All...

This park is actually very pretty. My friend and I spent a weekend in Richmond and we walked here from Carytown (would not recommend, took a long time).

We walked the whole park and walked the lake and spent the afternoon enjoying ourselves and looking at all the graffiti art in the area.

It's well-kept and manicured and the trails were clean. Didn't see a lot of trash or debris.

It's a nice, urban park in the middle of the city.

Boarders Maymont which is gorgeous so if you have time and are in the area, do...

Came out here on a beautiful day with some coworkers to toss around the ol' pigskin. The crisp winter air, clear water views, clean grassy fields all provided a great wind down from a busy week. Thank you to the workers and people of Richmond for keeping this slice of heaven so clean. While playing our game a ball got caught in a tree, and we used some coconut tree climbing skills that I learned from my time on the islands to get it down. Great park, great afternoon! Magnum Approved.

Great park to walk, run, or bike around. Three different lakes and a vita course trail all within a couple miles radius. Just beside maymont park and sometimes paddleboats are available for rent. Ample benches and garbage cans. Lots of goose poop. Easily accessible from nickel Bridge, Arthur Ashe Boulevard, and downtown expressway.
