The Cask Cafe — Restaurant in Richmond

Went there on a Friday afternoon. They have a great beer selection, both on tap and in bottles. Happy hour specials for beer was $4 select drafts, which were two beers from a new craft brewery nearby in Virginia. The gentleman serving us was helpful and always checking in with us. I tried the Käsekriner, bratwurst, and andouille sausages along with some sauerkraut and German potato salad. While I liked all of the German flavors, there was something about the andouille that I found to be not quite Cajun-y enough.

Parking at The Cask Cafe could be difficult, depending on what time of day you visit. They have their own parking lot but less than 10 cars can fit, however you might get lucky with the street parking that surrounds...

ETA: The takeout Covid-19 practices are safe and easy to navigate. You can order the packaged goods on their website and then walk up and get them from a table they've set up outside. The venue is quite comfortable - there's a small bar and high tops in the front room with smaller tables in the back perfect for a little afternoon work. For a long time this place was a small, hush, relaxing place to grab a beer and some finger food. It still is, but with the new apartments across the street, there business has gone way up (which is a great thing, honestly). Just time it right on a weekday evening to get a quiet corner to talk with a group of friends over an impressive array of beers and a nice platter of cheese and bread.
