This GameStop is usually alright but today my fiancee and I, along with a couple other customers, had an annoying experience.
There are several signs and stickers throughout the store indicating that there are sale prices and the cashier claimed that those sale signs should have been taken down the day after Black friday but were never taken down. Today is december 21st. Black Friday was November 29th.
I overheard a customer at the counter asking why she wasn't getting a Buy 1 Get 2 Free deal on clearance shirts like the sign indicated. He walked up to one of the signs that was just a piece of paper held up with one piece of scotch tape, said "no that's not correct, that should have been taken down after Black Friday", and walked away without taking it down. I would think that it it wasn't correct he would have pulled it down as soon as he saw it.
My fiance bought a controller that was posted at one price and rang up for like ten dollars more. He pointed out the sticker and signs and the cashier said those prices were black Friday prices and should have been changed, and that he couldn't give it at the posted price. my fiancee ended up just buying it at the higher price because he wanted the controller and didn't want to inconvenience all the customers waiting behind him but its quite annoying to go out Christmas shopping, think you're getting a good deal, waiting in line, and then realizing you have to either pay more than you were planning to or not but the item you wanted..
I am mostly just having trouble understanding how sale signs and stickers have been up all over the store for a month after the sale ended and not one employee or manager noticed.
Editing to add, my fiance called the 1800 number and they said the store has to honor the sticker price. My fiance went back in with customer service on speakerphone and the cashier said "my manager won't let me, I'll get in trouble". My fiance told him to call the manager, and when he did the manager said to give my fiance the price. He then said "well no one showed me how to fix the price". So thankfully the manager instructed him over the phone but it was weird...

I recently visited this GameStop to purchase a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, and my experience was frustrating, to say the least. The employee (Tracy) assisting me seemed more focused on upselling unnecessary products than actually helping me make an informed purchase.
From the start, she persistently tried to sell me a membership despite my repeated refusals. When that didn’t work, she began misleading me about the differences between the digital and disc versions of the PS5, seemingly to push me toward the more expensive option. She falsely claimed that: • The disc version has faster loading speeds (which is untrue, as both versions have the same SSD). • The disc version has better picture quality (also false—both output the same resolution). • The digital version overheats more than the disc version (again, completely untrue).
Even after debunking these claims and standing my ground on purchasing the digital version, she tried to downplay the price difference, saying the disc version was “only $50 more.” As a final attempt, she even asked if I already owned a PS5, as if that somehow mattered. When I confirmed that I did, she finally gave up.
One particularly strange moment was when she instructed her coworker to retrieve a specific box labeled “#4” from the back. It felt odd, almost like they had certain units they were prioritizing for sales, which only added to my suspicion about their tactics.
Overall, this experience was insulting to my intelligence and made it clear that the priority here was upselling rather than customer satisfaction. I’ll be reporting this to corporate, and I’d advise others to be wary of misleading sales pitches when shopping at this GameStop. Do your research beforehand and don’t let them pressure you into spending more...
Read moreLast month I was shopping here with my husband. There was a sign stating that a certain brand of product was on sale. I brought an item that fit the description (Loungefly bag) to the counter and the young man (possibly a newer employee) was very helpful and scanned for the price which I had inquired about. It came up as regular price. I stated that there was a sale sign posted, so the lady who appeared to be some kind of supervisor/manager blamed the young man, stating that he must have forgotten to take it down after Black Friday. (Note that this exchange I am describing occurred in late December.) Then she walked away to help another customer. I don't need to witness employees being thrown under the bus by their boss (in front of a handful of customers, mind you), who is ultimately the one responsible for signage and general store procedures. I'm more upset about how she treated the employee than the sign issue. This place is not managed well and I usually try to avoid...
