This is a good outdoor park with a fair amount of rides for under $25 unless you go on budget days when it is $12. There is a water coaster that might look intense, but its a lot of fun and I'm terrified of things like that. I hear the people in front get a lot of airtime. The only problem is that the line tends to be a long wait, because there is only one and its the big special thing at this park.
The 3 body slides are good fun, but none of the slides feel better than one another. The two drop slides will keep track of your time from top to bottom. The tube slides feel good, but the purple one with 2 people feels like the high edges on corners end a bit too soon. When I was there, there was only one lifeguard working 2 waterslides, which can create a wait. Maybe there are more guards working on peak days like the weekend. There are lifeguards at the bottom of course and plenty of lifeguards at any body of water. They even did a drill when we were there.
Speaking of lifeguards, it seems like the lifeguards working the waterslides on the top would bucket water and throw it on people in the short lines. The kids seem to love it, I'm not sure about the adults. If you're not paying attention, that means you get doused in the eye with chlorine.
The wave pool felt small, but not overly crowded. The park itself didn't feel crowded really on a hot Friday from morning til close.
Footwear is a must. The cement is foot burningly hot. I'm not sure any other cement has been as hot. I recommend walking through the grass when possible.
The lazy river feels not as large as other lazy rivers, and at some points you could be at a complete stand still. There are plenty of leaves in the river and a few alternate paths, one with a great waterfall that you can avoid and another with fountains streaming. Another issue was kids without tubes in the lazy river are everywhere. Using it like a swimming pool was a little much. And well there was a lunchable pack just floating around there.
There is a toddler pool with ankle deep water and 2 small slides including the frog tongue slide that you've probably seen elsewhere. The kid's play area has the traditional giant bucket with a few body slides and plenty of area to climb on.
There are private family changing areas and bathrooms with changing tables and showers. Locker rentals are $7 and you can get $2 back when you hand in the key. I see police there walking around for security.
In all, its free parking, cheap lockers and they let you bring your own food. Budget days are your best bet, but otherwise under $25 seems like $5 too much. Lines are short, except the water coaster and its a fun day.
1 lazy river 1 wave pool 1 toddler pool 1 kid's area with a few body slides and a giant bucket 1 water coaster 3 body slides 2 drop slides 4 tube slides (2 covered with some neon lights inside 2 not covered) 1 small hurricane style slide for 4...
Read moreWhat a disaster! The cost to spend the day here is ENTIRELY not worth it! People PLEASE LISTEN!! $20 to park your car...$50 per person to get in....over $20 for a cheeseburger combo & drink. & what are you left with?....I'm glad you asked.. -The lamest weakest non-wave having ""wave"" pool I've ever experienced! Please Please change the name to just "A Pool of Water"" ...then I'd be more understanding. Complete disappointment & totally underwhelming. The local YMCA pool produces larger 'waves' from peoples bodies just entering the pool! Are you trying to save on insurance premiums? -Thee most expensive, flavorless, luke warmest, chewiest, and overly-thick slab of meatloaf style cheeseburger known to mankind.....you'll find it right here at hurricane harbor. It'll gouge your pockets for for a minute BUT the haunting part is later on after you leave this park & come back to your senses - you feel embarrassed at yourself ...asking- ""what the heck did I eat earlier & why the heck did I pay that much""? The shame..The shame is haunting. -If you've ever wondered what it would be like to swim in the Rock River....look no further, the hurricane harbor lazy river has got you covered!! You'll enter the lazy river & be "lazing" with all kinds of leaves and random garbage & debris floating around with you - not to mention the unmentionables that your feet will encounter on the bottom of the lazy river. Hopefully, you'll be part of the few chosen ones that'll be able to grab one of the very few floaties they provide. Best of luck. -Please try to wear shoes around the park. I don't know what kind of "shrapnel" confetti avalanche happened in this place BUT somehow several times I'm ALWAYS stepping on some kind of super sharp, painful, who knows what it is on the ground there. Ever heard of a broom? -2 of their most thrilling waterslides were closed down during our visit BUT not to worry though because hurricane harbor will compensate you with full price admission to the park. -$20 to park your car on their very precious acerage. Not to worry at all though because they closed 1 of their two parking lots so now they can cram all us in like sardines on one side only. So....more walking too. Yay! Overall the place just feels run down & a money grab. I'll probably not be back anytime ever but oh well ....you'll live on in my "magic waters"...
Read morePLEASE HEED THIS WARNING - THIS PARK IS A HEALTH AND SAFETY RISK. (2025 Update) DO NOT GO HERE. The wave pool is destroyed, the floor has lots of residue, the water is cloudy. The slides are disgusting, overpriced, the cards are a scam. I got hurt on a lot of the slides. Everything was closed without warning (Screaming lizard, rebranded as wipeout, tiki island, and splash magic lazy river). These weren't even listed until we left the park, and they still advertised them being open on the loudpseakers! The pressure on the Typhoon Terror was also too much as we almost tipped, and it was my favorite slide! I tipped over and stuck on the Abyss. I was refused access to one of the rides because i had "ridden it too much and others need a turn" even though I waited in the line. I miss Magic Waters. In 8 years, magic waters should have their park back. TD;DR: Magic waters was better without the 10-year lease to 6 flags. Don't waste your money here. Used to be open at around 8-9. Now it closes at 5? This sucks, we were kicked out at 5, even though the signs said 6. Ripoff. 2025 update: it got worse somehow. All the good reviews are because Six Flags renamed the listing to Hurricane Harbor rather than creating a new one. IF you see this, AVOID COMING HERE UNTIL SIX FLAGS STOPS MANAGING IT. They jacked up the prices for less of an experience. As magic waters, I never got sick going here. I went recently just to check it out, couldn't really do anything because everything was closed, ended up getting pneumonia somehow anyway and was hospitalized. HOSPITALIZED FOR PNEUMONIA, DESPITE HAVING DONE ALMOST NOTHING AT THE PARK. Let that sink in. The Wave Pool (Tsunami Bay) is almost always over-capacity too due to the park closing stuff off, which could turn into Action Park 2 real fast. Even with trained lifeguards, it is not possible to ensure everyone's safety and can easily miss someone drowning due to the crowding. This place is just depressing. I'd say every time you come here you get a chance to get a ticket to the hospital. This place seriously needs to be checked out.
