I bought a vehicle from the owner of this restaurant. He gave me his word that for three months, if anything happened to the vehicles engine or transmission, he would warranty it. Two days after purchase, I was driving to work, and had my family with, (we were getting a hotel room for the weekend, I work in Illinois on the boarder of St Louis.) We heard a terrible sound, and smoke started flying from the vehicle. Stopped on the side of 39, a rod flew through the oil pan, and the vehicle was on fire, with our 7 month old baby son in the back seat. Emergency vehicle put out the fire. We were lucky that we got a ride, even though 3 hours from home, from two people who lived in the town next to us. When I confronted them, the owner was on the phone.. and once He heard, He passed the phone to the wife, who hung up on me.. then I got a text saying that the owner, who sold me the vehicle, went to Mexico. We are now suing them and pressing legal charges. They are Theives, and anyone who has a decent soul should refuse this restaurant. They are literally ruining our lives. I am only a 26 year old, trying to go to school for law, and my husband is a Marine, and now a volunteer fireman.. along with our 7 month old baby. We now have no vehicle, and no help.. and could lose everything, because of these evil, dishonest and disgraceful people. Do not eat here if you have a soul. Do not give these evil human beings your hard earned money, they do...
Read moreService was very friendly, a lovely lady seated, greeted and served us. The strawberry margarita was yummy. BUT the food was poor and overpriced. The beef in the bistec ala mexicana was tasteless, as were the beans, literally, the meat and beans tasted like they had no seasoning at all. The rice was meh. The taco meat was poor quality and not tasty either. The guac had (perhaps personal preference only) too much lime and cilantro. Even the tortillas were poor! Have been to the Alvarez in Loves Park many times over the years, but thought we'd try here for a change. Will not be returning. And $42 for one small margarita, two dinners, one pop and a guacamole!!! If I'm going to spend nearly $50 on a meal (still left the lady a nice tip, she was lovely and she wasn't the one who cooked the food!) I expect something far...
Read moreOne of the worst food places i have ever been to. My family and I stopped at this restaurant because we had a gift certificate. We sat down as the only customers in the entire place and ordered food. When the food came it was so bland! The hamburger meat on my nachos had no flavor. Food had such a lack of flavor that all three of us brought it up in conversation at the same time, within minuets of the food arriving at the table.
Then we called the waitress over to talk to her about the food and she apologized and told us, that we were not the first people to complain about this "again!" she said. Lol.
Wow. Even the waitress is getting fed up with the lack of flavor in this place.
Came in to eat $25 of free food. Left hungry and re-gifted the...
