DO NOT GO TECH 2U ROCKLIN! What they advertise over the phone is not true and I'm not sure how this company exists.
Let's talk about the "free diagnostic" that is advertised over the phone. When I heard that, I was sold, so I went to their shop the next day. When I arrived for the "diagnostic", they grabbed a different power cord and plugged it in. When it didn't power on, they said an actual diagnostic was $90. Apparently the "free diagnostic" is "external only", their words, not mine. Frustrated with the situation and short on time, I reluctantly leave my laptop with them. I tell them that the laptop powered on and immediately shut off. I personally replaced the battery so I believed it was probably the motherboard (remember this, it's important). They said okay and that they would call me in two to three business days.
After SIX business days, I CALLED THEM asking what's going on with the laptop and that they hadn't contact me in the two to three business days. If I didn't call them, I guess they would have just kept the laptop?
I spoke with Rob who had the audacity to tell me that he's not sure and that it's PROBABLY THE MOTHERBOARD! Wow. Thanks. It's almost like I told you the most likely problem and then you just repeated the exact same thing to me.
You didn't run any "tests" like you would do during a DIAGNOSTIC. When we talked about recommendations... you didn't have any! You couldn't find the Lenovo Ideapad 3's motherboard which I typed into Amazon.com and found the exact one immediately. It was the first option!
You wouldn't return the laptop to me unless I paid the $90 when you did absolutely nothing and then tried to convince me to pay $249 to copy/paste data from the laptop. I didn't need that and never asked for it. Not only was this a COMPLETE WASTE of $90 but you set me back six business days, which if you include the weekend, was eight calendar days.
1 out of 5 stars is more than this company deserves. Don't be like me. Find...
Read moreTook my computer in after troubleshooting basic power issues myself. I swapped the power supply after waiting 24 hours after a power surge occurred and I suspected it ruined my power supply or mother board. Since I didn't have any more parts on hand, I figured it would be best to have someone diagnose it first. Tech2U said that a couple day later the computer was turning on with no noticeable issues. Figuring the old power supply was possibly still ok, I asked them to place it back in. They did and realized the old power supply was indeed bad, so they placed my new power supply back in my computer. This entire ordeal costed me absolutely NOTHING because the stuck to their free diagnostics fee and didn't charge me to mess around and swap the power supply. Days later the computer is still running without any issues. I was very satisfied with my visit to tech2u and the staff was very professional and well mannered. I will definitely be returning in the future if I have any other computer related issues and will be reccomending them to my...
Read moreBefore I contacted tech 2u my computer worked ok. You guys did a online diagnostic and ran some tests, after the diagnostic my hard drive was not operable and all the data was lost to a point that the only recovery option would cost me up to $1500 with no guarantees. I spend $500 on a new hard drive including the cost of the diagnostic and $1600 for my book keeper to re enter my quickbooks data. Had I known this was the outcome I would never allowed tech 2u to touch my computer. Maybe you should advise your customers to back up their data before you run your...
