My Daughter and I went to Mariella's to find a wedding dress. The entire process was a nightmare when the attending bridal consultant brought dresses to try on that were too small to see the dress completely on. My daughter did find her dress which was the only positive to say the least of our experience. Once the dress arrived, we noticed some serious defeats in the pattern of the dress. When addressed with the bridal consultant that assisted us that day she stated " the dress was made for someone who is 5'8". I stated to the consultant that my daughter was 5'3,. I stated I thought you took all the measurements correctly and She stated we needed to fix the dress with her alternations department. As we tried on the dress, we had ordered the dress in a size 20 and fit like glove no issues before we placed our order as the dress as was getting discontinued per May 2021. The bridal consultant then proceed to say " well you should have ordered in a size 24 as it did not fit in a size 20. meaning that she was calling my daughter fat.
We made an appointment with Mariella herself to the discuss the actual concerns we had about the dress purchased plus the treatment of the bridal assistant with her comment about my daughters weight. That week we had met with Mariella , she was anxious to prove that my daughter was fat and unable to fit into the size 20 dress we had purchased. To my surprise Mariella had notes stating that my daughter was going to lose weight and other private details discussed with family members during the measurements for her order. Directly she stated to my daughter about her being fat and her weight . It really was not a professional environment. My main concern was that she didn't listen to our concerns as a customer as in fact upon deep review of the dress it had some serious defeats. During our meeting with Mariella she began raising her voice very loudly and wanted to force her opinion without listening, we had stated to her that we had brought with us the day of the measurements the seamstress that we chose for any alternations that might have been required for the ball gown. After we disclosed our seamstress name she had made some negative remarks about this person , in which she become enraged. During her emotional unprofessional moment she threatened my daughter and myself, in 4 separate occasions that she was going to " take the dress back" without thinking. I stated to her in a calm manner that We had paid for the dress in full. All Mariella kept saying was that the dress was couture and perfect. THE WORST OF ALL and MOST SHOCKING of all during this visit is that Mariella want to force my daughter to try on Nicole or Nichole Williams wedding gown as it was the same dress we purchased but in size 20 just to prove her point of my daughter being FAT. She stated that we could try on the dress as her wedding was postponed twice to due Covid-19. PLEASE MAKE SURE OTHERS BRIDES ARENT TRYING ON YOUR WEDDING GOWNS, LOOKS LIKE THIS DOES THIS CONSTANTLY!! We left the store with a dress we paid in FULL. We took the dress our seamstress and she found following issues The lining and the corset was sewn together causing the corset not to fully extended to close. The border of sweetheart neckline folded over and the corset bones popped out. The layers underneath the dress were cut in different angles and sizes. Upon reviewing all the above, The dress closed in its entirely and fits beautifully after fixing pattern that come with the dress. This place isn't for girls who are a little heavyset in weight and for people who stand up for themselves. NOT ALL WOMEN ARE A SIZE 0... Welcome to my Nightmare... Read moreAfter going to 3-5 Bridal Stores around Connecticut, closer to my home, I ran across Mariellas Creations, after my Future Daughter in Law purchased her wedding gown from them. I have Two Children getting married Four months apart. From the time I walked into this store, the professionalism and welcoming was so beyond comforting,I was just totally amazed at the Expertise of The Owner,Mariella, and her staff! They ALL were so very nice,So very helpful and extemely knowledgeable in helping with my selection of a dress. They went out if their way after getting a vision of the types of dresses I was interested in and while I was in the dressing room, they were browsing more dresses for me, knowing what look I was trying to go for, but yet, still right there at the curtain once I was ready for them to zip me up or adjust or Clamp the dresses, based on the sizes. All the staff was so very gracious to me and did not rush me and made every attempt to accommodate me even while other customers were in the store.I noticed they went out of their way, running around to make sure Each and everyone of their customers in the store got their own special attention and not just to sell a dress , But because they prided themselves on their expertise in making sure each customer was happy with their choices. I purchased my first dress for my son's wedding and just absolute love it.Such elegance! The whole store is filled with top designers and elegant and classy dresses in many materials and fabrics. After reading some of the reviews on here,I have to laugh, because I've been to this store 4-5 times and each time I had the same experience.I didn't feel pressured,i certaintly didn't have anyone be rude to me, if anything, they made me feel so welcome. I left twice not making my mind up about a second dress for my daughters wedding and not once were they rude to me because I didn't purchase a dress, as a few of the reviewers claimed..In my experience dealing with the public myself, owning my own business, I realize that no matter how very nice you are to people, some people are just plain miserable and love to complain or you just can't please them.God forbid They(the customer) are rude and don't get free stuff handed over to them, then the bad reviews start pouring in, topped with exaggeration. In all fairness and due honesty, I have never met a more lovely woman than Marcella and her staff. She is on top of everything that everyone is doing.I was actually exhausted watching her( the owner) run around that store.lol. The store itself is very clean and do beautifully designed and organized to accommodate her dresses. The dresses themselves all look like dresses Charlene Therein would wear to the Academy awards. I can't rave enough about my experiences at this beautiful high end bridal boutique. After buying two mother of the bride dresses here,if I had five more children, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Its a pleasure coming here and your always made to feel so welcome. The most Friendliest, Professional People with high end expertise in their field. Thank you so much for making me feel like a million bucks.I am so excited for both my children's weddings and my experience finally finding the right dresses, along with people who make you feel like you've known them all their lives, that much extra special. Respectfully, Laurie Czarzasty P.s-My sincerest thank you's to Sue and Christine! They went up and beyond to help me with everythjng..What an exceptional group...
Read moreThe only good thing but Mariella's was my wedding dress. It started a Ok experience. It started with Dresses that were too small to fully see how they looked but hey I found the dress I wanted. When I Dress come in that's when the Nightmare began. I have ordered the dress in the correct size and it was still slightly too small by over 8 inches. After Review, we noticed that they dress had serious pattern issues, we noticed that corset ( stretch material) was attached to material that didn't stretch hence why it didn't close. The attendant was like stated to me " I thought you said you were going to lose weight". I looked at my family and didn't say anything. A few days I made a call to the shop to speak with the owner about the finds we had located on the dress. We arrived to meet with Mariella to discuss the dress and we were treated with such disrespect. She wouldn't let us speak on what we found in regard to patten only saying that " the dress was couture" Soon after she become very upset and irate, when I declined to wear another bride's dress who purchased the same the one as me to prove that we were in the wrong to what were stating to her. I remember the girls name as I noticed it on the Ticket attached the Dress Nicole or Nichole Williams. I refused and Mariella Took it as I didn't want to admit that she was right about her findings. What's most disturbing about his incident as a person is that weight was brought up on conversation in a very indirect matter. At this point I walked out the room to go pay for my dress in full and just take my dress and leave. Upon my return with my receipt in hand of my payment in full Mariella got more irate and upset stating that if we didnt let her speak that she wouldn't allow me to take my dress home even though it was paid in full. My mother told her that we had paid the dress in full and we wanted to leave not saying anything else or yelling at anyone. Mariella will say that in her 50 years and by saving grace she has never called a bride fat or disrespected anyone but I have several witness including her employee besides myself and mom who went to shop that day to assist with my wedding dress. I will never recommend this shop to anyone who isn't a size 2 because we come in all shapes and sizes as women... LETS NOT BODY SHAME BRIDES!!
Update: not a False Review when I had more than 2 people with...
