Whole Deli — Restaurant in Rocky Hill

Mixed feelings about this restaurant under these times. Nothing bad to say about the staff!, but owners could run the business better, my insight is one day I called this restaurant to order a breakfast sandwich @6:45am 3x's until someone answered the phone @ 7:03am. I was told my order will be ready @7:25am because the grill needs to warm up for 15min,. So if you're in a rush for work and in need of a coffee or sandwich you're not going to receive it until 7:30am. As a manager or owner I personally would have my cook and staff report to work @6:30am fire the grill up so it's ready to go for 6:50am. So by 7am I'm ready to service my loyal and new customers. I work at the Hartford vet center a building away and went to this establishment due to the great food and convenience however today an employee was having an inappropriate conversation about Hispanics and the language barrier. While it is reasonable to have these frustrations , it is unacceptable to speak badly about immigrants in a place a business within ear shot of customers. When I asked to speak to her privately about the topic, she very defensive. Another staff memeber was speaking to me in Spanish (which by her facial expressions she did not like) about the work place. My husband and I were hungry and wanted to get a sandwich to split to tide us over until dinner. We are New Yorkers and in Rocky Hill Connecticut to visit family. We saw the small sandwich shop and went in, the staff accommodated us despite they were getting ready to close. The roast beef and havarti cheese sandwich with horseradish sauce was delicious 😋...
