Read moreI grew up in Rocky Hill and have been visiting that park all my life. It is beautiful Now but not in the 60's. The town dump was just down the road and the river was loaded with dead floating fish and oil slicks. All the factories just dumped raw sewage and manufacturing waste directly into the Connecticut River!! The atmosphere stank with smoke from the 24/7 burning dump. This was Before there was an E.P.A. That river use to stink terribly but now is almost clear with nice grass everywhere and picnic tables. What Was a dirt road is now nice clean ammosite. The ferry has been running for a long time.. Read moreWhat a Great Park! A Gem at the Connecticut River .Easily accessible from the Main Thoughofare, Main St. Just a few minutes from I-91. Not far from shopping, food and lodging. Plenty of free parking including for Handicap accessible Vehicles and boat trailers. Park has a very large green area, picnic area and boat launch. And of course the Ferry which we took round Trip and was only $8.00 for two and it was pretty neat. We Met Ship hand Joey D.
