Not a fan of the attitude of the owner. They were opening shop in their first week and I couldn't wait to go, my husband and enter and look at the menu, order our ice creams and while I am ordering, their having some issues with their register. I understand that struggle all to well as I have owned a business before but projecting your frustration is not okay. Opening day can come with a lot of hiccups but when I asked about their plans in the future, I got a response in a tense and rude manner... A smile goes a long way. I didn't feel welcome and figure it best that I keep my mouth shut instead of making small talk. I wanted to come back but I'll just steer clear till they're actually ready to operate on a respectable level. Their ice cream was fine though, just be weary if they're not in a good mood. This is a friendly town with people who've loved the scoop shop that was there previously. ----Alternatively if there getting a lot of reviews about their attitude from multiple customers maybe they should take a minute to breathe and to keep calm while interreacting with customers instead of jumping to defense. It's tough opening a business but that gives no right to excuse yourself for your actions. A simple apology for having computer troubles would maybe be able to calm you down before snapping back at a customer. My review can change in the future as I work down the street from this shop and I'd love to try them again. Maybe...
Read moreVisited on a Sunday afternoon there were only 3 other families there but it also was a bit chilly. Parking was convenient. Their outdoor set up looks fun for a warm summer day. Only 2 tables inside one 4 seater and a longer one that accommodates 6-8.
Our ice cream server was nice. He offered tasting a few flavors since it was our first time and even had some suggestions based on his top flavors.
The missing star comes for price and taste. They were out of whipped cream and hot fudge which I only found out when I was ordering the sundae - thatâs out of everyoneâs control but when I asked if I could substitute another topping for the whipped cream was told that wasnât possible. So I ordered just ice cream and walnuts which were a whopping $1.60. At that price Iâd expect they size up the cup so you can get a decent amount of topping but that wasnât the case I got 8 walnuts at best. Also my strawberry cheesecake ice cream was freezer burned. The black cherry chip was absolutely delicious though.
Iâd definitely give this a try again. Iâm assuming the inventory issues stemmed from the unexpected warm days. And I wonât get any toppings at that premium which should be fine as they have plenty of flavors that already have good add-ins so Iâll maximize on...
Read moreEverything and everyone is 99% good. Thus, thanks very much for that (an extra big thanks to the hard working employees đ). The 1% that isn't good? The fact that you charge $1 for NON-HOMEMADE WHIPPED CREAM. There's no way that can make sense to me because I could go to the store and get an entire can of "Cabot" (the brand that you use) for $4 (just $3 more than the $1 you charge for A BIT/a few swirls of whipped cream). I'm not coming here for canned whipped cream nor am I okay with paying extra for it. PS - I have emailed about this issue, several times, but I've not recieved a response. PPS - Also as I've said in the emails, "Praline's" (and all other ice cream shops there since 2003) either charged a little (less than a dollar) for their HOMEMADE whipped cream OR they didn't charge at all).
[2003 = that's how long I've been living here/visiting this establishment as a frequent customer...many times a week in the summer...and a few times a week in the...
