My heart is broken, We lost our home in a house fire July 23rd and we have been homeless since. I found myself broke and unable to put a roof over our heads let alone a Christmas for the children and I was so happy to have been able to sign up for The Christmas basket and gifts. I kept my phone charged and kept it on my because they said I would be called to pick up our basket. I received no call, and was counting on this. So I called on friday and asked what happened. I was told that they already had the giveaway and no one was there until December 26th. So I have no Christmas for the babies . It's hard enough to not have a home for them after the fire. I am grateful that other families were helped. I just dont understand why we were skipped. No missed call, no messages. Nothing. I'm so sad, I dont know what to tell the children on Christmas when they will have nothing to unwrap. Please, can someone tell me why . I resisted the attraction to this church every time I rode by. One day, as I rode by I saw the sign that said," are you willing to go through the pain?" That hooked me. Read moreRecently had a funeral reception in the school hall, the dinning area was a decent size for 300 people. However, the kitchen area is very deprived of hand towels, hand soap and sanitizer, garbage cans, functioning ice machine, and most importantly a garbage disposal. Normally a commercial kitchen has these BASIC necessities. We had to buy ice for 6 ice chest to keep beverages cold. The restrooms were not stocked with toilet paper, handsoap, and towels.
