My Experience at Calabash I recently visited Calabash after winning an Instagram contest for this new restaurant. It’s in a great spot, right on the corner of Del Paso Boulevard and Arden Way in the Del Paso Heights area. I’m excited to see what this place becomes. When I walked in, the staff greeted me warmly and made me feel welcome right away. Thanks to the contest, I could pick anything from the menu, so I chose the oxtail with mac and cheese. While I waited, I tried their island punch. At the moment, they don’t serve alcohol because they’re still waiting for their liquor license. The host was kind enough to give our small group a tour of the restaurant. I heard they plan to offer brunch soon and maybe even open a pizzeria in the future. If you haven’t heard about Calabash or stopped by yet, you’re missing out. The oxtails were very savory, with a perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavors. The mac and cheese was baked just right, with a little char on top for texture—very buttery and cheesy. I can’t wait to go back and try more, especially the appetizers and desserts. I’m also looking forward to when they start serving drinks. The restaurant has only been open for a little over a month. When I visited at 8:00 p.m., it was quiet, which I enjoyed since they said it had been a busy day. If you’re interested in island or Caribbean food, check out their menu online—they even serve goat dishes. I think you’ll really enjoy it!

So excited to try a new Caribbean spot in Sacramento! The red bean soup, oxtails, rice and peas and smashed potatoes were delicious! The goat stew was very salty but it could’ve just been the batch that day, will try it again. The drinks were alcohol free but very refreshing! The atmosphere was clean, open and relaxing with nice o music playing in background. Please dont go anywhere Calabash!

Calabash is an absolute gem on Del Paso. The food is packed with rich Caribbean flavor, the music creates the perfect vibe, and the service is warm, welcoming, and top tier. It feels like home the moment you walk in. This family-owned spot elevates the entire neighborhood. Highly recommend.

My wife and I had an outstanding experience at Calabash Caribbean. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like family. The hostess was very nice, and one of the chefs even came out to introduce himself -- that’s rare and really shows their dedication to customer satisfaction.

We enjoyed the Watermelon Breeze and Stamp & Go Fritters as starters, both bursting with flavor. For our main dishes, we loved the Ackee & Saltfish, Jamaican Jerk Chicken, and Rasta Pasta. The Classic Side of Sweet Plantains and the Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese were the perfect sweet ending.

The drinks were expertly crafted and very refreshing. The atmosphere is vibrant, clean, and full of authentic Caribbean charm. The restaurant was spotless and beautifully decorated, making for a truly immersive experience.

Overall, this place is a hidden gem. Delicious food, excellent service, and an amazing vibe. We’ll definitely be returning soon! Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Caribbean food with top-notch...

This is the most upscale Jamaican/Caribbean restaurant I have been to. I would love to come here for a date night. The bar is sparkly, the service and cleanliness was immaculate. I got the sea bass coconut curry with plantains (you can choose your side). It's a little pricey but worth it. If you go in the evening, they may sell out of a couple dishes earlier in the day. Oh and there were a couple...
