Anastasia Island Branch | St. Johns County Public Library System — Attraction in Saint Augustine Beach

This is my "home" library and I love it. The staff and volunteers are fantastic to work with, and there is a wide range of programs.

Going to my branch is always a treat whether I'm picking up books, returning some and looking for more, or participating in a meeting, program, or helping out the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library - aka FAIBL.

Update: Scored 5 books and a DVD today, and got to have a quick visit with some of the staff. I can't say "favorites" because they're all my favs. I loved seeing some parents and little ones gathered in the children's area sharing books and visiting with each other, too.

Update: Returns and pick-ups, and got to visit with library buddies. I love my library!

Update: Feb. 2023 Worked on set up for Friends of the Library book sale. Had a great time with the other regular volunteers, and the student volunteers were amazing! Got a bit of time to chat with our staff members, too. Love them!

Update: May 2023 Got to visit with a few staff members today when I picked up a book. Also got to put bids in on the special price books auction. Always love going to the library!

Update: August 2023 Returned a book, checked out a new one, and got to visit with some staff members for a bit. They were busy today- even all the adult computer stations were being used! I checked on my book auction bid, too. Life is great at the library!

Update: March 2024 - Dropped off some things for programs and picked up a book and movie. Loved my visit with some staff members and looked at the baskets for the annual auction. And took a look at the gorgeous plants. Donald does wonders with the indoor and outdoor library gardens! Love my library!

Update June 1 - A quick but fun visit. A few of use went outside to see the rocket from the planned space launch but ithe mission was scrubbed. We still had a nice chat. I signed up for several books in our monthly silent auction. I love this branch and all the staff members!

Update Nov 2, 2024 - No matter what the question, the staff has the answer or will find it ASAP. Today I had a technical question about the library software. It's relatively new and I was confused about a specific feature. I love visiting with all the staff members. Debra and Jan were of great help today! Thanks, ladies!

Update Apr. 2025 - Another fun time visiting with staff friends and browsing. Donald told me about a new library app and I downloaded it immediately. Still playing with it. David told me about a helpful chat site. I visited with Debbie, Chelsea, and Leslie, and said hi to Sarah. Every trip to the library is a happy one!

Update late July 2025 - Yay, three new books to pick up today! Had a short visit with Sarah and David - short just because I was on my way home to meet someone for lunch. Next time I go back, I'll be sure to have some time to spend looking for books and talking with the...

This is a modern and pretty place in the lovely Sea Grove Town Center on Anastasia Island. I couldn't find "People" in the mags & publications but I read a terrific dog magazine instead. And while I do wish there were more tables and chairs, I have to keep in mind this is a small building, not some huge national library with 500 marble steps & statues of Zeus. Staff is knowledgeable & pleasant and I enjoy going here. Bike rack for plenty of bikes, nice selection of honor books, spotless and bright, nice quiet place to go get some work done.
