I’m extremely disappointed that the city’s waterpark was closed this Memorial Day weekend, especially after it was advertised to be open. The reasoning given was “weather,” yet temperatures were well into the 70s, hardly a reason to keep the gates locked. Families like mine planned around this, and as a taxpayer and someone who paid for a full family season pass, I expected the facility to honor its commitments.
This is becoming a pattern. Each year, the pool season gets shorter, the open days more inconsistent, and yet there’s no reduction in price or explanation. If 70+ degrees is now considered “too cold,” then the city should seriously consider investing in pool heaters instead of shutting down and disappointing residents who are trying to enjoy the very few warm months we have.
People plan around this amenity. We’re not just paying for access, we’re paying for reliability, community engagement, and trust. Right now, all three are falling short.

I then call parks department and they tell me that he's under contract to spray the aquatic vegetation at the ponds. Well I would like to know why he was out spraying in a field and not even close to anything that comes close to "aquatic vegetation"? So we pay with our taxes to get cursed at and for him to spray more things that he's not supposed to so he can get paid more for more...
