⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem on the St. Clair River!

Palmer Park in St. Clair is one of those rare places that truly offers something for everyone. Situated right along the beautiful St. Clair River, it’s a peaceful, scenic spot perfect for relaxing or spending quality time with family and friends.

One of the most unique and nostalgic features are the statues perched on top of the old poles, a tribute to where high schoolers used to bravely jump into the river back in the day — a charming nod to local history that adds character and sparks conversation.

The park is very kid-friendly, with open green space and nearby playgrounds where little ones can run around safely. It’s also pet-friendly, so bring your dog for a riverside walk or a game of fetch. You’ll often see families and locals out enjoying the open air with their furry companions.

There are plenty of spots perfect for a picnic, whether you want to spread out on the grass or grab a table. The view of the freighters passing through is always a treat — something that never gets old.

Just across the street from the park, you can see the local mall and plaza, where live music bands perform regularly throughout the week and especially on weekends. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you’ll catch couples dancing in the park to the music floating over from across the street. It’s a beautiful, small-town moment that makes the park feel even more alive and magical.

And no visit is complete without a stop at Fowler’s Ice Creamery, just a short walk away. Their old-fashioned scoops and wide variety of flavors make it a must on a warm day — or really, any day.

Beautiful park that is very clean and is spacious. The view of the St. Clair River is stunning and is the best watching the Fireworks on the Fourth of July. I highly recommend you come to the St. Clair Fireworks on the Fourth of July it is the best show in the Detriot Area hands down. Also I think the Last Week of July they have the race boats race here for a race on the river which is a fun all day event and they have vendors and food tents on the road selling stuff to people. Also sometimes they have a carnival near by for kids and teenagers. Last year they did not have it but they had it ever year before that. I highly recommend you come to Palmer Park for those two events...

A must do at least 2 times a year. Love strolling down the very long boardwalk along this beautiful river. Everything here is pristine and gorgeous. Fantastic way to spend a few hours walking, jogging, picnicking, dog walking and people watching. Feels like a wonderful, safe way to spend some time outdoors. If you love flowers, this place is so nice to view the beautiful garden area. The St Clair River isn't the only lovely sight to see here, however, it can't be overlooked. Its true-blue color seems to flow like its waters. This is a powerful river and it is something to see in person. Love that I can park for free and enjoy the beauty of nature along one mighty river and its...

Palmer Park has beautiful grounds, a wooden boardwalk, and an amazing garden right on St. Claire river. We walked our dog along the boardwalk and saw quite a few people doing the same. The boardwalk has bronze plaques on it representing the year built, name, and length of ships/freighters. Very cool. There was also a QR code to learn about the history of them. Eerily enough, not a single freighter passed while we were there. We couldn’t figure out why. There was a set of stairs that led straight into the water which, for some reason, creeped me out. I highly recommend checking it out. I will definitely be back, very lovely.
