Had a great experience using this company! We went very recently, the guide was nice and personable and the location beautiful. We booked the longer tour which allowed for a pit stop on an island and brief walk on a trail. We saw about 3-4 gators, bald eagles and Osprey to name a few. The reason for the drop of a star is: We also saw a Venomous Florida Cottonmouth (Agkistrodon conanti), which I was really hoping to see, very exciting. However our tour guide misidentified it as a banded water snake, which are fairly harmless to humans. I didn't want to correct him in front of everyone, but maybe I should of. It's dangerous to misidentify like that, as someone could see that snake on land, remember they were told it's harmless, and wind up getting too close and bad things could happen. The guide pointed out key cottonmouth characteristics as banded water snake characteristics (and they look very different). Less importantly - he also brought up a few false rumors about the cottonmouth, but that's less of an issue than the misidentifying. I bring this up so maybe at the next staff meeting you can review with staff venomous vs harmless wildlife in your area. But to recap- great tour, nice guide, and lots of wildlife to be seen! To those giving a bad review because they didn't see much... Common, they can't control the animals and shouldn't be reviewed on what you didn't see, they try their best to find the animals. The airboat ride in and of...
Read moreIf you’re wanting an airboat tour guide who is appreciative and respectful of his customers, who is maybe a bit entertaining, with a sense of humor, then Captain Scott is NOT the person you should choose! I must say though in his defense, he did an excellent job in trying to get his customers to see Alligators up close and personal! He was also VERY knowledgeable about his craft and the environment of the Everglades, but when he was asked a question it often seemed liked he was responding to a person who might have an intelligence level 1 degree above that of an imbecile! He speaks as if he IS the BADDEST man in all the land. He states that he has 5 things that will bring physical violence from him to you! Feeding the alligators is just one of them. I also discovered that they (Marsh landing adventurers) are not shy about making sure that you’re aware about tipping! A sign at the boarding area lets you know that “20% is customary, but anything is appreciated “. Once on the airboat I saw 2 more notifications about tipping, but, they don’t have any signs showing we’re to park or where to check in. Last thing, he also was wearing a T-shirt that looked like he’d been wearing it for at least a week. I would STRONGLY recommend using a...
Read moreI had such a great time! Did a 2 hour tour and it was SO worth it, I’ve lived in Florida my whole life and somehow haven’t gone on an airboat ride until now, this service was definitely a great introduction to it! Captain Chris was wonderful- polite, funny, very educated, and he even gave the adults beers, which was the icing on the cake!
The scenery was absolutely gorgeous, Shingle Creek blew my mind, such beautiful natural Florida that I’ve never really experienced. On the tour we saw multiple alligators very close up, Captain Chris even knew all of their names, how old their babies were, their daily schedule, and how to get their attention with gator calls! Saw lots of adorable babies too, many unique birds including giant eagles and cranes/herons, lots of plants and flowers of course, and giant snails!
The ride was so much fun all around, very comfortable, it was so fun when he drove fast and made sharp turns, and so peaceful when we just waded and enjoyed nature for a moment.
All in all this was a great experience and I will surely recommend this place to anyone! I plan on doing a night tour one day hopefully when there’s bioluminescence! Thank you Marsh Landing Adventures & Captain Chris for wonderful, educational, stress...
