So I came in to buffet city This afternoon and spent about 35 minutes here. I only had a few of their items just to get an idea of what the place was like. So here is the good, the bad, and the you decide. I went with foods that I've had at numerous other places so that I could compare. THE GOOD: The ambience is really nice. The décor is calming, the restaurant is clean with good lighting, the music volume is not too loud not too soft and the layout of the tables is actually really really nice. The aisles are wide enough for a couple people to get through so you're not running into people and so on and so forth. The service probably could have been a little better, I don't know if there were short staff or what the deal was but it seemed like they had 2 people working the whole restaurant, and that does not include the hibachi chef.
The seasoned string beans had some nice flavor and the string beans and the onions were nice and crisp, not soggy. They had some nice flavour to them but it wasn't overpowering..
The fried mushrooms were flavoured with soy sauce, it wasn't too much but enough there to tell it was supposed to be there.
The fried mushrooms were flavoured extremely well with soy sauce, which wasn't overpowering but enough to taste the soy sauce.
The salad shrimp seemed to be the only thing that was temperature appropriate. It's hard to kind of screw up salad shrimp because it's supposed to be on ice.
They had a nice selection of sweets and treats and the hibachi and sushi bars looked really nice really well laid out and looked like they had a wide selection as well. I usually have some sushi but for some reason I just wasn't in the mood for some reason I just wasn't in the mood for sushi today..
THE NOT SO GOOD: The hot foods are not super hot and the cold foods are not super cold which is a plus 4 me because I hate super hot foods that you have to wait 15 minutes to cool off before you can eat it.
The egg drop soup I felt was a little watered down for a place that charges $9 for lunch. The seafood sensation was bland, the problem is I have yet to find a restaurant where it's not bland. I also had their cold imitation crab salad. It was pretty decent I thought that they were a little heavy on the Mayonnaise based sauce.
I did have their version of the imitation crab with bacon bits, at least I think it was supposed to have bacon bits…
The You decide:
Overall it's not a bad place but I think it's a little pricey for 8 bucks, But then again you are talking about Orlando.
The food temperature was just right for me because again I don't like my hot foods so hot I have to wait eat it, and I don't like my cold foods so cold they freeze my teeth.
EDITED 6/17/2021- Regarding the owner's response, I couldn't eat more than 35 minutes of food, before I was...
Read moreMy family and I recently moved to St. Cloud and decided to give this place a shot. The first time we went, on June 24, 2023, the waitress was very accommodating and continued to bring us refills of water as well as take our used plates away. I decided to give her a tip of $9 for a family of 7 (two adults and five kids). The bill was easily over $100. The waitress gave me a nasty look that I overlooked because I thought it was just my imagination.
The second time we went was a week later on June 30, 2023. The same waitress brought us our drinks (which was all water), but this time with a look on her face so nasty that my wife and kids were able to tell; it wasn’t just me this time. She never came back to refill our drinks until I had to ask her for one refill and our plates were piling up. Half-way through our meal she brought the check for us to pay. Since she had an attitude the whole time, I only gave her a $5 tip along with my credit card payment. She came back with the signed receipt and pointed to the suggested amounts of 15%, 20%, and 25% for a +100$ bill. I told her that I am low on cash and that we will do better next time. She scoffed and tried to humiliate me in front of my wife and kids. I told my family to go to the car because I was about to talk to the manager/owner and things might get heated.
When I approached the lady at the cashier (who claimed to be the owner) I explained to her that the waitress scoffed at us for a $5 tip and that she was very rude to us. Instead of trying to resolve the problem she began asking if I did not like the food or service. I told her that the food was good, but the service was not. She responded with “well then, you can go to another place if you do not like it here.” I explained that the waitress didn’t take our food orders and only brought us our drinks which does not constitute a full tip like at other places where food orders are taken. The owner began to argue with me that maybe she should raise the buffet prices. I told her that maybe she should pay her waitresses a fair wage so that they would be more professional.
Needless to say, my family and I will never be going back there again. Stay away from this place because all they care about are...
Read moreCame here today for the first time and the food was so delicious. I've lived in Kissimmee over 10 years and never tried this place before, but will definitely return again and again. The food is so much better than any Chinese take out in the area. We sat down to eat and our waitress was friendly and attentive. I forgot to ask if I can order for take out in the future for when I don't have time to eat inside. That would be wonderful if you could. I sampled all the different meats, chicken and pork as well as the fried dumplings, rice, mushrooms, egg rolls and lo mein noodles. I'm not a fish person so I didn't try any of that area but even seafood options looked appetizing. The deserts also looked tasty but after loading up on 2 plates and clearing both I was way too stuffed for desert lol. My only minor negative is that we were seated right under this enormous 100 inch tv screen that was showing political news and I don't want to see that while eating out and enjoying myself. The seating area is huge so I guess I could have requested to be moved away from the giant political screen where I wasn't right under and in front of it, but I just focused on my delicious meal and tried to ignore it. It would be nice if they played more neutral fare on their tv sets, but next time i'll make sure to be seated out of it's line of sight. But it's a minor nitpick compared to the delicious food offered here. And the giant fish swimming in the lobby fountain is fun to watch upon entering and exiting. Very highly recommended if you enjoy Asian/Chinese...
