Good food, 'ok' server. Horrible SCREAMING baby; whoever put it right next to us and the other $ PAYING!! customers, is as rude and ignorant as the low class EVIL mother. The screaming started as they sat down! [Update: Sept. 27, '23, YOU/the restaurant, HAVE NO RIGHT to allow me and my guest, and the other PAYING diners, to suffer. We are JUST AS IMPORTANT as that rude "parent". Yes, she WAS evil. Yeah, you're SORRY, all right. You TOOK our money, though. My friend was so exhausted, he forgot our $3 coupon, too.] We learned the hard way; the PROBLEM is, free meals are offered to children Mon. + Tues., and, there might be rude "parents", so those are the days to avoid! Mar. 9, the mgr/woman SAID, when my friend called, "It wasn't their fault; she WON'T make it right"! Dining out is about enjoyment and relaxing, in a pleasant place. I could hear those monstrous screams through multiple walls, even while I was in the bathroom, so other than leaving, we really COULDN'T escape it. The server didn't do ANYTHING to help! Restaurants, YOU NEED TO REMOVE or BAN this. To the "mother", THINK before you ever do something like this again; STAY OUT of restaurants. HIGH PITCHED SCREAMING IS NOT NORMAL, I've read about. I wish I had asked if the baby should go to the emergency room. The grandparents were zombie-like; probably in shock. This was an ASSAULT. We deserve our hard-earned money back, but that doesn't take away the unfairness. I stayed as calm as I could, out of respect for my friend. It was our Valentine's meal; we drove 45 miles for. That vile woman should be punished for what she did to all of us, pretty much ruining our evening. How DARE that SELFISH trash do this! When I returned from the bathroom, I noticed a pacifier in IT'S mouth, the child took it out and screamed again! The mother finally 'GOT' the clue, and took stroller and screamer out. By this time, we were getting ready to PAY the restaurant. I feel sorry for their little girl that I noticed, sitting under the table; SHE COULDN'T STAND THE SCREAMING, EITHER! I hope that loser mother (she's NOT a decent parent) is sentenced to LISTENING TO IT, non-stop, for two years. Maybe it would teach HER some manners. Also, someone, not our server, brought us the wrong meals, before we got ours. And, please remove the sign about the chicken and pig; it's not funny,...
Read moreThis review is for the owner/management team as I couldn't believe how poorly it was being managed on a Sunday.
I always do Door Dash/Uber for here but had family in town so figured we could go out to eat. We purposely went AFTER peak hours to avoid waiting with my brother with special needs. We get there and half the tables are empty yet the lobby booths were packed with people waiting for a table. I asked the hostess if they were understaffed and she said no they had 2 servers, but 1 was just sat with a 20-top. 2 servers seems understaffed for a Sunday to me but maybe that was just the 1st thing management messed up. I get that it is a larger table but over half was kids and most servers have the capacity to juggle it all, especially working in a diner place and seeing the "great service" reviews on here.
What I couldn't believe is there was also a "pie station" attendant AND hostess working the front and even with multiple families leaving no one was being sat. The 2 employees up front didn't offer to pitch in and help run drinks for the servers (at 3pm they weren't slammed with any DD/UE orders) just stood there staring at the people who were waiting.
I have worked in the restaurant business before and it was always managed as a team work makes the dream work and our goal is great customer service. If I was told they were understaffed, I would get it, but what the hostess should have said is front of house is lazy and we don't want to help the servers. Work together, a 20 top is not that challenging and it is a diner where food gets cooked fast, there literally should have been no wait to get seated today. Such a shame because I used to love this over supporting the KKK Kup Diner in St Cloud. Looking more forward to the First Watch...
Read moreWe ate here for the first time, and I must say, we had a great experience. Now, we have been to a Village Inn before in Virginia Beach, VA, but this location in St. Cloud, Florida, is a gem for the community. We were greeted with a smile and immediately seated at a booth. Our server Kat was very welcoming and very attentive. She answered all of our questions and even asked if we had the Village Inn app, but I didn't, but she explained it's a rewards program to earn points towards future purchases. I downloaded it and scored $5 off just for signing up! The menu was pretty straightforward, but there was so much to choose from. We ordered a build your own and 3-3-3 plate. My mom got scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, and pancakes. I got the 3-3-3 plate, which came with 3 eggs made to your liking, 3 bacon, and 3 slices of french toast. The food looked and tasted delicious. The eggs for both orders were cooked perfectly. The bacon was crisp and again cooked perfectly. The hash browns were crispy on one side and soft on the other. The pancakes were fluffy, and the french toast were tasty. Everything tasted so good, not overly salty or too greasy. We finished our breakfast completely satisfied. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Kat was amazing, and we definitely will be back. The Village Inn also serves lunch and dinner. We will have to check that out, too. The prices are very reasonable and they give Seniors discount. I highly recommend eating here!
Update: I forgot to mention that we ordered a whole peach pie to bring home. It was so good! Not too sweet. And the flaky pie crust was so satisfying. I have to check out the other pies that...
