Purrz and Paws Pet Supply — Attraction in Saint Helens

Erin and the team at Purrz and Paws Pet Supply are best in class. I have been going here for a few years for dog food, occasionally a toy or 2, as well as my fish tank needs. The love of pets shines through with every interaction.

However today I am even more thankful for them. I had to take my 9 week old puppy to the emergency vet as she was very sick and lethargic. In the end after $900 of tests and X-rays there was still no answer to what was wrong. The vet recommended some GI food and sent us home. I knew I wouldn't make it to Scappoose in time so I stopped at a large chain pet store in the area I was in to get the recommended food. They wouldn't sell it to me due to only a recommendation and not a prescription. I was exhausted and grasping for any help I could get so pulled a hail Mary and called Purrz and Paws even though I knew I wouldn't make it before closing. After explaining what was happening Erin stayed late to help me with getting my puppy set up and was more informative than the vet. She even checked in late at night with me to see how my Ember was doing. Today she is back to being a puppy. Erin took my pup's care personal and her knowledge of nutrition and care saved my sanity, you will not get that at any big chain store.

There are some small businesses that, when they open, become central to the community. That is what Purrz and Paws is. When you walk into their pet store, you become part of their pet community. The owner, Erin, is knowledgeable about their products. She keeps up on recall information, shares tips and tricks, and can seemingly remember the names of almost all the pets who come through her door. She hasn’t just opened up a pet food store, she’s opened up a small community for pet lovers. With her addition of homemade pupcicles in the heat of the summer, or locally created subscription toy-and-treat boxes, she knows exactly what her customers on two-legs (or four!) need.

I learned about a new small business in our lovely town of St. Helens yesterday. Purrz and Paws Pet Supply has all the necessary food items, snacks, toys, and other items for your pet.
