I’ve been coming for years and I love the staff. However, my husband and I are vegans and I’m lactose intolerant. It’s very difficult to get a food order right here and there are not a lot of options anywhere in SH. I hate sending things back so eating here always gives me anxiety. Last night I ordered simply “May I have a veggie patty burger with only bbq sauce and pickles with fries”. Simple enough, right? Came with cheese and had to send it back. Husband’s burger also came with cheese but he felt bad sending another plate back so he just ate it anyways. They ran out of veggie patties but had back up plant based chicken patties so that was totally fine with us. This is what you get when you’re just trying to have compassion for animals and the environment, paying $14 for a microwaved patty. Mine only had bbq and no pickles. Should have just ate at home like we normally do but we were trying to support our local businesses. Apparently, they don’t support us back. Now, I know it’s a small town and all the meat eaters are laughing at this, fine. But if you have allergies to dairy or eggs, you should probably skip this place. They will not...
Read moreWe were in Scappoose and decided to make the trip and visit this place since I wanted to try a new brewery.
We sampled about half of the beers. They were average at best.
No infections or off flavors, but everything we sampled was so typical, nothing had a pronounced malt or flavor. Nothing jumped out like "WOW, we NEED a growler of this!"
I recall a slightly younger man sat near us and we asked what he thought about the beer? He said it's alright, nothing great. I looked at my friend and said, yes, that's exactly what we think. I guess we have higher expectations than the typical "rate everything 5 stars" reviewer.
Not saying it's a bad place. It's not. But the beer just wasn't that great. Maybe you will like it better than we did.
I can say something positive aobut it. The bartender was friendly, provided many samples, answered questions, and never rushed us, so service was fine. The place was clean, good atmosphere, no blaring music, just a nice...
Read moreFirst time in and it was a pleasant surprise. We thought we might just try the beers and leave but the menu had some interesting things on it and we thought why not. Hubby had his usual, a cheese burger and fry’s. The bun most impressively did not over whelm the burger patty. Fries were battered , served hot and not over seasoned. The chicken entree over sticky rice with bang bang sauce was the biggest suprise . This is not a rubbery, boneless, over seasoned, griddle cooked , chicken fillet. This tasted slow cooked and subtly seasoned with citrus. The rice was sticky , not mushy . The pickled veg on the side, were divine! I’m excited to try more menu items and work my way through the beer offerings. We had a rye IPA and a seasonal called Skelly, which had a good strong hop pucker going for it. We will definitely be back. ( took away one star on atmosphere just because it was chilly in there at first. Was warming up nicely...
