The historic tour lasts a little under an hour and allows you to explore all over the whole house, all three levels. What is especially good is that there are different tour hosts in each room of the house so you get many perspectives from folks in period dress who are play-acting that they really live there. When you're in the kitchen, they serve a lovely tray of cookies baked in the wood-burning stove. Our 4 year old granddaughter was interested throughout, but really got excited at the very end when they took us to the playroom and we saw toys from the time. The tour was cool, but there were lots of stairs, which isnt a concern for me, but some of the elderly in our group really struggled. I do wish they had some sort of pamphlet with the names of the residents and major players of the house. Im really bad with names and so found it hard to follow along with some of the stories. NOTE: for people wanting to tour the house, there is a bit of a steep climb up the stairs so be aware of that
