Harriet Island regional park is always a great place to enjoy a relaxing stroll with the dogs. There are also many amenities available for all types of activities. They have barbecue grills, picnic tables, tons of green space to fly a kite or a game of frisbee. There is a well maintained playground for the kids too. The bike/walking trail runs through here. You can get just about anywhere in the metro on that trail. The paddleboats take off from here on wonderful river rides. They have midday rides that anyone can afford. Read moreThe park itself is GREAT!! Being by the lake, looking out to the city, it's all beautiful. It's sad that Parks and Recreation do not take care of the onsite restrooms or portable potties. The ONLY restroom open was so disgusting that the porta pott was actually cleaner except no toilet paper. Are you really serious. Whomever is in charge of Harriet Island at St.Paul Park and Recreation should be FIRED! This issue runs the whole experience. Read moreI feel so fortunate to live near this park, I personally feel like this is one of the best parks in Saint Paul, you get an awesome view of the city and the river! It is also connected to to wabasha bridge which you can easily take the steps to get to the top. Raspberry Island is also a really neat place with a cool stage. My absolute favortite thing about Harriet Island however, is just how open it is! and the grass is always so well maintained I enjoy walking barefoot on the soft grass in the summer.
